NCDC we have installed the Atlas successfully onto a Windows 2000 pc. (We haven't tried it in Windows ME or Windows XP.) Here's how we made it work in Windows 2000: Please note that neither NCDC nor ESRI supports ArcExplorer in Windows 2000, or Windows ME, or Windows XP. Definitely go for Windows XP for the simple reason that it is designed for both the business & consumer thus is more adept at games playing.

Yes, however the requirements for Windows 2000 are great. At minimum you would need 32 MB of Ram, 64 MB recommended.

Our kX Audio Driver has not been certified by Microsoft (WHQL-ed) and thus a special installation procedure might be required. You have to boot from a bootable DOS floppy disk to run Partition Resizer under NT/2000/XP. In Windows XP you can create a bootable floppy disk from Windows Explorer by inserting the floppy in the drive, right-clicking the drive, selecting 'Format...' and checking the 'Create an MS-DOS startup disk' option. Well, it seems I was mistaken in my original response to this question. Several WinME users have reported that they have no trouble running their older DOS games in this environment, though I still have yet to hear back from anyone running Win2K. Apparently WinME does provide enough DOS compatibility to be able to run these older games, though I'm currently not aware of what needs to be done (if anything) to get it working properly. Anyone care to enlighten me? =)

Use the default plug and play the Windows operating system installs. Not all CTX models will have specific drivers for these operating systems. Check the CTX driver list for your model at www.ctxtec.com.

Yes, the ASE2000 is supported on Windows 95/98/ME/NT 4/2000/XP. The ASE2000 application software is the same for all versions of Windows but the I/O driver for ASE I/O cards is different. Be sure to use the correct I/O driver files for the particular I/O card and Windows version.
