On the game's Multiplayer screen you will see a PunkBuster checkbox near the bottom, under the list of servers. This checkbox is used to Enable and Disable the PunkBuster client. Alternatively, you can use a text editor to edit the pbclient.con file in the "mods/bf1942/settings" folder and change/enter the line: "game.clientPunkBuster 1" (to enable) or "game.clientPunkBuster 0" (to disable).

PunkBuster is an addon for ET and most other multiplayer games, that uses various detecting methods to ensure players aren't using cheats like aimbots, wall hacks, etc. See http://www.evenbalance.com for further information.

If you do not wish to use PunkBuster any longer, you may remove the entire "System/pb" folder inside your game folder. By removing this folder, the PunkBuster software will no longer be available. PunkBuster does not save information to other locations of your hard drive, nor does it change your system registry.

This will take effect the next time you load Generations, but not before then. Bear in mind that you do not NEED to disable the punkbuster client to connect to a server that is not running punkbuster. Modem users might want to disable it before connecting to non-PB servers so the occasional "security validation" doesn't result in a lag frag for someone else... These control the Q3 lightning gun, Q1 shaft, and Earth flamer thrower, in order.

File uploads are an often-used feature of MediaWiki, but are disabled by default in all current release versions. To enable them, first make the upload directory (default images) writable by the web server (chmod 777 or allow the Apache user to write to it, etc.) then set $wgEnableUploads to true in LocalSettings.php (i.e. "$wgEnableUploads = true;"). When I try to upload files in Mediawiki 1.5 I always get a "The file is corrupt or has an incorrect extension. Please check the file and upload again." error. When I try to upload bigger files in Mediawiki 1.5 I always get "Internal error! couldn't move "/tmp/somefile" to "/wikidir/images/temp/filename"
