How do the nano-particles work?

Nanomask FAQ's > Nanomask Ltd
Nano-particles act as a destructive agent on the surface of the filter. The particles are positively or negatively charged and effectively break down the microbial structure of pathogens coming into contact with the filter.

My sunscreen says it has nano particles in it, should I be concerned?

Skin Deep: Cosmetic Safety Database
Environmental Working Group is among the many advocacy groups who have raised concerns about whether the rapidly expanding use of nanotechnology poses risks to human health or the environment. Many zinc and titanium sunscreens contain nanosize particles, even when they are not on the label. See similar questions...

How are your particles made?

Seradyn | Technical Support | FAQ
Seradyn microparticles are made by emulsion polymerization. For plain polystyrene microparticles, the ingredients are water, styrene, buffer, anionic surfactant, and initiator. When mixed together, the surfactant emulsifies the styrene into the water phase. Upon heating, the initiator forms free radicals which cause polymerization of the styrene into polystyrene. The polymer chains are insoluble in water and form spheres, which are stabilized by the negatively-charged intitiator end groups. See similar questions...

How are particles created by manipulations within the work area removed?

Pharmacy Isolator Frequesntly Asked Questions - Barrier Isol...
The main process chamber is provided with engineered turbulent flow air which is designed to maintain class 100 quality during manipulations. Tests carried out at Amercare on opening paper wrapped syringes show that class 100 quality is achieved in less than 3 seconds from opening product, however this cycle is highly dependent on the nature of the product being handled. How are carrier particles different from other particles?

Cosmology & Particle Physics FAQ
The photon, gluon, and the graviton carrier particles are thought to be massless and having no electrical charge. Only the W and Z particles, mediators of the weak nuclear force, are massive, and the W+ and W- particles carry charge. Force carrier particles can only be absorbed or produced by a matter particle which is affected by that particular force. These particles allow us to explain interactions between matter. ARE NANO-PRODUCTS SAFE? ARE THEY TOXIC?

MCH Nano Solutions - Frequently Asked Questions
TiO2 used as photocatalyst is physically and chemically safe, the US certified it as a food additive in 1968 and Japan did in 1983. It is now used widely in making white chocolates and functional cosmetics, including lipsticks. The Food Analysis Center of Japan Food Research Laboratories and Mitsubishi Chemical Safety Institute Ltd. demonstrated its safety through skin simulating tests and acute oral toxicity test. Where do the plastic particles go once they are injected into my uterine blood vessels?

California Fibroids - Links & FAQ - Frequently Asked Que...
These particles remain in the blood vessels that directly supply blood to the fibroids. The fibroids have larger blood vessels than the rest of the tissue in the uterus, so the particles can easily enter the fibroid blood vessels without harming the rest of the uterus. The particles become caught within the fibroid blood vessels and are incorporated into a blood clot. There is no risk that these particles will flow into other parts of the body or cause an allergic reaction. See similar questions...

Where do fine particles come from?

Broward County - Air Quality Division
Combustion of fossil fuels is the principal source of fine particle emissions, including the burning of coal, oil, diesel fuel, gasoline, and wood in transportation, power generation, space heating, industrial boilers and diesel and gas-powered vehicles. See similar questions...

Why are there floating particles?

FAQs
Soymilk that is fortified with vitamins and calcium can sometimes look as though particles are floating in the soymilk. This is normal and can be reduced if the soymilk is shaken before use. See similar questions...

Can slitting be applied to micro/nano sized applications?

Slitting: FAQ
quot;Calculations" refers to the process of determining residual stress profiles from the measured strain data. See similar questions...

What is the current version of nano?

The GNU nano editor FAQ
The current version of nano *should* be 1.9.99pre3. Of course you should always check the nano homepage to see what the latest and greatest version is. Note that versions < 0.9.10 are probably not for those wanting to get serious work done, so if you are using Debian 2.2, check that you have updated to 2.2r3, which comes with nano 0.9.23. If you're tracking unstable, you probably have the newest version already. See similar questions...

What is Nano-Sample Technology?

SHOPMASH.com FreeStyle Glucose Monitor & Testing Strips
Nano-Sample Technology describes our own proprietary blood glucose measurement technology that can measure volumes in the nanoliter range. Based on the pioneering work of Dr. Adam Heller, this technology converts a blood sample's entire glucose content into an electric charge. Previous technologies only convert a portion of the glucose, which means far more blood is needed for a sample. See similar questions...

Where do I place the NANO O2 in my home?

It can be placed anywhere, even in a corner since it does not require centralized location in order to effectively clean your air, as other air cleaners. We recommend that if you have a high contamination area that it be placed somewhere near that location until the smell or odor is reduced. See similar questions...

How is the NANO O2 constructed?

The NANO O2 is certified "Made in USA" using indestructible aerospace 60/61-grade aluminum, not cheap plastics. See similar questions...

How do I resuspend the particles?

Seradyn | Technical Support | FAQ
Microparticles with diameters greater than about 0.4 micron tend to settle upon prolonged storage, because the Brownian motion of the particles in the fluid is not sufficient to overcome the constant pull of gravity. If particles have settled, they may be resuspended by swirling or rolling the container, or by sonication. Agitation strong enough to produce foam should be avoided. Polystyrene microparticles with diameters over 0. See similar questions...

Is Spiral Dynamics About Waves or Particles?

Spiral Dynamics > FAQs
Both. There are two ways to approach the theory of Spiral Dynamics. One views the emergent systems like overlapping waves that roll across the shifting sands of human nature. Each comes in gradually, breaks mightily and then folds back to become part of the next surge. There is overlap, mixing and interaction with as much emphasis on the transitions as on the peaks of the curves. The foaming waters of new thinking cause our world to be different; we become different and change our world. See similar questions...
