The closer the plants are to the light source the better. To maximize the results, use different bulb types during different growing cycles. There are lanterns galore in the house. Most run on white gas, some on kerosene. I also brought a propane lantern. It's a good idea to bring some D cells and a bunch of AA cells with you.
