Both real and imitation wood paneling can be cleaned the same way, as long as it has a protective coating (such as varnish) on it. If it doesn't, if it's just raw wood, washing is risky, so you may want to use a dry sponge, then damp-wipe it lightly and, once it's dry, oil it with a wood treatment recommended by the manufacturer or a local cabinet maker. Paneling that does have a finish on it can be cleaned with an oil soap. Clean from the top down.

Solexx paneling can be rinsed or wiped clean without worry of scratching. The panels are impervious to chemicals so you can wash them with a mild soap. It’s a good idea to do this a couple times a year to keep your greenhouse clean and to maximize light transmission.

Everyone has the same reaction when they see our Faux Wood Beams for the first time. They have to touch one to "see" with their own hands that it is not real wood. Next they have to pick up the beam to see how light it is. Shocked, surprised, and delighted. They can't believe it.

For interior jobs, most of the paint I use is regular interior latex house paint. I use some artist's acrylic paints for small details and special colors or effects. But be careful, they are often shinier than latex wall paint. So unless you plan to finish with a clear protective coat (which will make a uniform shiny finish), you will see a difference. An inexpensive clear finish coat is Future Floor Polish. It is a colorless acrylic liquid that can be applied with a soft, lint-free cloth.

Answer: I use sable brushes by various companies, although I prefer Loew-Cornell. I use 3 brushes: two #4s, and a #00. I also use make-up sponges by Mehron. When air brushing I prefer to use Iwata brushes and pressurized CO2 rather than an air compressor.

Yes, our panels do have some flex to them. The maximum deflection is 4" (per 4 foot panel). They can be bent either convex or concave. We highly recommend that you first put the faux panels in a warm room for at least an hour before you try to bend them. The warmth will help relax the panels and make them to bend easier.

We do not recommend using our faux beams as a mantle because we do not offer end caps. When you cut down the faux beam to your correct width, you will see the hollow open ends. Clears with no pigmentation do not offer UV protection or color retention. Our products contain Transparent Iron Oxide pigments which absorb UV radiation while allowing visible light to pass through. This results in a finish that highlights the natural beauty of the wood while still protecting it. This is usually caused by oversaturation of UV Plus for Hardwood Decks on the wood. Remember, the product must be able to penetrate completely to work properly.

Our only clear finish is for interior use only. We would suggest the transparent wood finish designed for the type of wood you want to coat. (Examples: Cedar/Marine for cedar or teak; Transparent Redwood for redwood.) This indicates overapplication of the wood stain. In most cases, washing the surface with a solution of TSP (Tri-Sodium Phosphate) and water, (with some scrubbing) after seven days drying time, will correct the problem.
