WinAMP is very popular as a decoder because of it's popularity as a player, but the links in [5.3] will take you to some other decoders. www.mp3bench.com lists some interesting information about decoders and their bitrates. While WinAMP will decode at 32 or 64 bits, NAD decodes at 110 bits and reportedly delivers the highest quality .wav output. NAD is available at: http://nad.inept.org/

A decoder converts an MP3 file into a WAVE file. This is the process most CD burning software goes through in order to burn your MP3s onto CD.

No. Because of the major changes in how plug-ins work from version 2.x to 3.x of Winamp WinCue will not work with Winamp 3.x.

For best results, ensure that your QuickTime sample rate settings are set to the same sample rate as the audio file you are playing back. This is done from the Control Panel/Sound /Sound Out dialog settings on the Macintosh, and the Control Panel/QuickTime/Sound Out settings dialog box on Windows platforms.

I have no plans on writing a Winamp3 compatible version in the near future, but if enough people request it, I will consider making a new version. The reason for this is that Winamp's architecture has changed dramatically from version 2 to version 3, and writing a version of WinCue compatible with Winamp3 requires a lot of work.

Make certain the decoder is connected to the host computer with the correct interface cable and that all the connections are tight. If you have a Series 20/Plus, make sure that the A/B switch on the back of the box is in the B position. If you have a Wyse or HP dedicated decoder (model #s 22-050-00, 22-055-00, 23-050-00, or 23-055-00), make sure to use it with a PSC power supply or equivalent 9V, 500mA, negative center, power supply.

To request a decoder authorization customers must log on to the PowerVu Connect site at www.pvconnect.net and select "authorize decoders."  Customers then complete the decoder authorization request form by filling in the decoders Tracking Identification number (TID) and Unit Address (UA) and other requested information. The decoder request information will be reviewed by AFRTS-HQ.

A DVD decoder is a piece of software that decodes the MPEG data on your DVD so that it can be displayed.

Change the output preferences to Wave File (silent). In the newer versions of WinAMP, the output preferences is actually under the "Input" tab. All the texture sets reside in a subdirectory called skins relatively to the place where you've installed the AmigaAMP executable. In the AmigaAMP config window, go to the "Program" section and tick the "Skin display" checkmark. To load a different skin during operation, press Amiga-S or call Project->Skin... from the menu.

Open the Preferences window, then select Plug-ins/Output. Select "Nullsoft Disk Writer" as your output plug-in. Then click 'Configure' and select a directory for WAV file output. The next time you hit the play button, Winamp will start writing a file with the same name as the file you're playing, but with the .WAV extension, in the directory you specified. You could Mark the thirty second drum recording (clip) and copy it six times to the desired track location.

Copy the .dll files into your winamp directory then start winamp, go to the prefs then to plugins, there you can select the plugin you like.

The PCD is an accessory by UFO company that allows you to mix and match boot chips and save types. It plugs into the backup unit and has two cartridge connectors, one for the boot chip and one for the save type. This allows you to employ two different carts for booting and saving purposes. For Example: In the boot connector you have Jet Force Gemini which has a 6105 boot chip. In the save connector you have Yoshi's Story.

There are several issues here. Generally speaking, the Panasonic decoder seems to push blue a bit. The R-Y Axis Angle and B-Y Axis Gain in the service menu are used to correct this behavior. There used to be a problem on some Panasonics with the Y/C delay on the S-video input. See the Quality Control section for more information.
