The show is primarily shot in two clusters of New Jersey towns, separated by the "I-80 parallel". A lot of the locations for "Ed" are in small towns within 30 miles of the show's Northvale headquarters; these include Oradell, Bergenfield, Hillsdale, Westwood, Glen Rock and Ridgewood. Some scenes from early episodes, use Nyack, New York, a town just north of the N.J.-N.Y. border.
