Your junior/senior major GPA should be above a 3.0; however, if there are extenuating circumstances for a lower GPA, you may still be considered for admission. Please address those issues in your personal statement. The GREs are only one of the factors we consider, so again, if there are extenuating circumstances, use your personal statement to address this issue.

What we are most interested in is the applicant's research potential. These scores are just one of many criteria we consider. There are no minimum scores. We normally tell students they should be in the B+ range to be competitive. The admission process incorporates 1) overall GPA; 2) prerequisite GPA; and 3) GRE score. First we look at the applications on their individual merit. We look at all of the materials and try to arrive at an accurate portrait of the applicant that includes experience, the breadth of previous coursework and recommendations.
