No, many of the day-to-day operational command line functions are available on the HMC, accessible from a remote system by using the rexec command or the OpenSSH command. A number of the more complex HMC functions can only be accessed through the Web-Based System Manager interface because they would be very complicated to use in command line form.

You can do either or both. The Sentry engine actually has no user interface, but example applications implementing common spelling-checker user interfaces are included with the Sentry Java SDK. Using the user interface in the example applications is the easiest approach, but the Sentry engine includes a basic spell check API which you can use to determine if words are spelled correctly, look up suggestions, add words to user dictionaries, etc.

If you were writing a regular desktop Java application, your options would be AWT, Swing or SWT. Theoretically, you have the same options available for Java on PocketPC.
