Why do kB!s occur in these Glock models?

Glock kB! FAQ v1.35
Reports compiled by Speir from various independent laboratories are inconclusive as to one single cause for the catastrophic failures. There do, however, appear to be several contributing factors which collectively may induce catastrophic case failures: Firing out of battery. Most Glocks will do this to some degree, especially those improperly maintained. Significantly overpressure rounds.

Do kB!s occur in other guns or just in Glocks?

Glock kB! FAQ v1.35
kB!s do, of course, occur in other guns, but no one appears to be keeping accurate statistics for most of them. Many 1911-style handguns have partially unsupported case mouths, and numerous case separations have occurred in these guns. Early .38 Super barrels were particularly susceptible, and the critical observer may have noticed the predilection among USPSA .38 Super competitors for full beards in an attempt to cloak the vestiages of what came to be known as "super face. Which Glock models are affected?

Glock kB! FAQ v1.35
Speir has documented many instances of kB!s, all of them in the Models 20 and 30-something Glock (.40 S&W, 10mm and .45 ACP). And since the introduction of the Models 30-through-36, there have been incidents of kB!s in the 357 SIG (Models 31, 32 and 33) and the .45 ACP (Models 30 and 36) pistols as well... all with reloaded or remanufactured rounds by most accounts. And until February 2004. See similar questions...

What is the relationship between reloads and kB!s?

Glock kB! FAQ v1.35
Successive re-sizing and firing of a case result in eventual weakening of the brass, increasing the probability of case failure. The partially unsupported chamber in the Glock exacerbates this problem. quot;Hard crimping" or overseating of bullets, particularly in the .40 S&W, can cause dramatic increases in pressure almost to the same degree as a propellant overcharge. What is the difference between KB/s and Kb/s?

Konnections.com - Support - FAQ
When transmitted over a modem, there are ten bits per byte (eight data bits plus a start bit and a stop bit). So if one modem seems ten times faster than another, it's because different units are being used. See similar questions...

Why can't I download at more than xx kb/s?

NoGrip :: FAQ
Due to a combination of factors, namely the high amount of downloads each day, and the availablity of high speed internet connections, it has become necessary to impose an artificial limit on the download speeds for normal users. Also at peak times its not unknown for the download server to have its connection 'flooded' because of the amount of users downloading at once. See similar questions...

What is a kB!?

Glock kB! FAQ v1.35

What on earth are these Kb/s and Mb/s you talk about all the time? What do they actually mean?

Connect 247 - Broadband ADSL Internet Access in the UK
Connection speeds are measured in units of "bits per second", usually Kb/s (Kilo bits Per Second) or Mb/s (Mega bits Per Second). This 512Kb/s means 512 Kilo bits Per Second, 1Mb/s means One Mega bit Per Second and 2Mb/s means Two Mega bits Per Second. In contrast, data transfer (and computer data in general) is measured in units of Bytes. One Byte contains 8 bits. See similar questions...

Are 33.6 kb/s modem connections the best?

Comrex Tech Notes: Ask the Codec Answer Guy
No, usually. High speeds do not necessarily make a better broadcast. Your goal should be to achieve the highest speed at which the modem operation will be stable. Since slower connect rates are more tolerant of errors, some judgement is required to hit the right spot. In fact, the Answer Guy is partial to speeds of 28.8 kb/s and lower, as all V.34+ modems seem to be more stable at those rates. In addition, at any speed 24. See similar questions...

What if damage(s) occur?

M3 Lead Generation Systems Broker
Note the damage on the 'Inspection Report', sign it, and keep a copy for yourself. You should still pay the required amount of money for the service or a claim may not be filed. Previous: Models, Up: What are the differences between R and S?

R FAQ
Apart from lexical scoping and its implications, R follows the S language definition in the Blue and White Books as much as possible, and hence really is an “implementation” of S. There are some intentional differences where the behavior of S is considered “not clean”. In general, the rationale is that R should help you detect programming errors, while at the same time being as compatible as possible with S. See similar questions...

What causes a kB!?

Glock kB! FAQ v1.35
Catastrophic failures may be caused by a variety of problems, but in general a kB! is as a result of a case failure. The case failure occurs when pressure inside the cartridge increases to the point that it cannot be contained by the case and the material of the case fails, allowing hot gases to escape from the ruptured case web at damagingly high velocities. What can I do to prevent a kB!?

Glock kB! FAQ v1.35
Shoot only new factory ammunition out of your Glock. This is what Glock, Inc. recommends, as do several members of Glock-L. Shooting reloads voids your factory warranty. Install a barrel with a fully supported chamber. Custom barrel makers include Bar-Sto Precision Machine and... Wilson Combat ...but as can be seen in the adjacent image, even this is not fool-proof if a Glock shooter is determined to over-charge a round! Avoid wherever possible . See similar questions...

I have a 256 Kbps DSL line, but I cannot download faster than 32 KB/s, why is that?

Earthnet Support Center - General - FAQ's
In the computer jargon, bits and bytes are both units used to measure file sizes, but 1 byte = 8 bits. Therefore, your DSL speed, which is 256 Kbps (Kilobits per second), is also 256 / 8 = 32 KB/s (Kilo Bytes per second). Most of the time, your computer displays download speeds in KB/s, not Kbps. So, if you are downloading a file at 32 KB/s, you making full use of your 256 Kbps DSL line. one more thing: the "M" in 1 Mbps stands for 1 Mega bits per second. See similar questions...
