What does the "RAVE" or power valve adjustment do?

Msquared Karting | Frequently Asked Questions
The red knob on the back of the cylinder of Rotax Max senior engines adjusts the RPM at which the power valve opens. Without getting too technical, the height of the exhaust port relative to piston travel, helps determine the power curve of the engine. When the power valve is closed, the exhaust port is "lower" and the engine delivers more power at a lower RPM. When the valve is open, the exhaust port is "higher" and the engine delivers more power at higher RPM.

Is it hard to do the valve adjustment yourself?

FAQ
Valve adjustments seem to run in the $150-$250 range here in the U.S. It's not impossible to do the job yourself if you're a reasonably proficient mechanic, but you'll need a special Triumph tool to do it. Here's my actually, you can. only one special triumph tool is required, and although it looks spindly as heck, it does the job wonderfully. mine cost $61 (conveniently just at 1.5 hours of time ;-). How can I check valve adjustment?

B20 Engine FAQs
You probable won't require any adjustment until the engine gets to around 90,000 miles, but it's very easy to check. Pull off the valve cover, and move the crank chaft (if you have a manual, put it in 4th and rock the car back and forth) so that the valves on one of the 4 set's are clear (the angle of the cam shaft "pushers" are 45 degrees, pointing up away from the engine, both that the same angle). How does the engine brake control valve motion?

Jacobs Vehicle Systems - Frequently Asked Questions
A standard technology engine brake consists of a solenoid valve, control valve, and master and slave pistons. These components are assembled into a housing as shown below. What is an "AND" valve?

Pneumadyne - Help
quot;AND" valves are used in circuit control applications that require a combination of inputs to produce a single output. When a signal is supplied to input ports 1 and 3 the output flows from port 2. The output flow will always be the lower of the two pressures. Both input pressures are required to receive an output signal from the valve (loss of input will cancel the output signal). See similar questions...

Do I need to take all the studs and the power-valve out before I send it?

faq's
When we process cylinders, we usually need to immerse the whole thing in some strong chemicals that will eat materials like steel, brass and so on. Because of that, we like to have all of those materials removed before we start work. Sometimes, parts are cast into place during the manufacturing process and they are impossible to remove. In that case, we will paint a protective lacquer on those parts to try to prevent any chemical attack. See similar questions...

Why does my valve drip?

Ritchie Industries: Automatic Waterers, Commander Series
This can be one of several problems. Over time, the neoprene disk on the valve plunger can build up with mineral deposits. These deposits will not let the plunger make a tight seal. This problem can be fixed with new components. See similar questions...
