How do I calibrate my TDS or EC meter?

GreenCoast Hydroponics - Hydroponic Nutrient, pH and Reservo...
It depends on the meter. You should follow the calibration instructions in the manual of your particular meter. Fortunately standard reference solutions are used. Nutrient bottles are marked with the conductivity (EC) value in microSimens/cm and the corresponding ppM values for sodium chloride (NaCl) and potassium chloride (KCl) solutions, and sometimes a "442" reference mixture.

How do I convert my readings from TDS to EC and vice versa?

GreenCoast Hydroponics - Hydroponic Nutrient, pH and Reservo...
To get the approximateTDS value, simply multiply the EC reading (in mircoSiemens/cm) by 1000 and divide by 2. To get an EC value, multiply the ppm reading by 2 and divide by 1000. See similar questions...

What is EC, what is CF, what is ppm, what is TDS, what is mS/cm2 and uS/cm2?

Frequently asked questions
They are all different types of readings used especially in hydroponics so we know the strength of the nutrient solution the plants are growing in. EC stands for Electrical Conductivity. Nutrient ions have an electrical charge. EC is a measurement of all those ions that have an electrical charge. The more electrically charged ions in a solution the higher the EC reading. CF stands for Conductivity Factor. See similar questions...

What is the TDS?

TeX Frequently Asked Questions
TDS stands for the TeX Directory Structure, which is a standard way of organising all the TeX-related files on a computer system. Most modern distributions conform to the TDS, which provides for both a ‘standard’ and a (set of) ‘local’ hierarchies of directories containing TeX-related files. The TDS reserves the name texmf as the name of the root directory (folder) of the hierarchies. Files supplied as part of the distribution are put into the standard hierarchy. Can I calibrate a module myself?

Synthesizers.com --- FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
Sure, every module that requires calibration comes with calibration instructions. Usually this takes a good frequency counter, volt meter (4+ digits), oscilloscope, and a precise voltage source (+/-1mv). All modules are calibrated before shipping with very accurate test equipment so you don't have to worry about this, but many people like to know what all of those trim-pots are for on the PCB. Many modules require no calibration at all. See similar questions...

How do I use a sound level meter to calibrate?

SVSound - FAQs
Proper calibration of your surround sound system, including your SVS subwoofer, is not only easy, it's downright critical! On the left is a Sound Pressure Level (SPL) meter; using one is akin to checking your car tires with an air pressure gauge. If you don't have one (the SPL meter that is), by all means stop reading this now and get one! Heck, click here and you can buy one direct from SVS at a low price of $44 without shipping costs (if ordered with your subwoofer). See similar questions...

Do I need an SPL meter in order to calibrate my system?

Surround Associates - Specializing in all aspects of surroun...
Yes, but you needn't spend a lot of money. A common Radio Shack SPL meter will do the trick just fine. Make sure that the meter is set for a C weighting on the SLOW scale. A tip: the analog meter works better than the digital one and it’s cheaper too! For more precise calibration, especially for the subwoofer, a Real Time Analyzer (which measures the level of each third octave frequency band individually) is required though. Why do I have to calibrate?

Frequently Asked Questions About the MiniMed Paradigm? REAL-...
Calibration is like buying a watch and setting the time for the first time. Glucose sensors are similar in nature. To initialize a glucose sensor, you need to enter a meter reading to give the system a starting point. And, just as a watch needs to be adjusted occasionally, so does a glucose sensor. You need to enter at least two meter readings a day – once every 12 hours. See similar questions...

What is EC?

GreenCoast Hydroponics - Hydroponic Nutrient, pH and Reservo...
EC stands for Electrical Conductivity and is measured in mS/cm or miliSiemens per centimeter. An EC meter measures an electrical current in the solution and reads the conductivity produced from the motion of the mineral ions. Low conductivity means low nutrient concentration, often resulting in nutritional deficiencies and slow plant growth. High conductivity means more food for your plants. See similar questions...

How often do I have to calibrate the system?

Medtronic Diabetes - Paradigm REAL-Time: FAQ
The MiniMed Paradigm REAL-Time System must be calibrated a minimum of twice a day (once every 12 hours). This is done by entering a fingerstick value into the insulin pump. However for best results, the System should be calibrated 3 to 4 times per day, with the calibrations spread throughout the day at periods when glucose is not changing rapidly. What are the EC fonts?

TeX Frequently Asked Questions
A font consists of a number of glyphs. In order that the glyphs may be printed, they are encoded, and the encoding is used as an index into tables within the font. For various reasons, Knuth chose deeply eccentric encodings for his Computer Modern family of fonts; in particular, he chose different encodings for different fonts, so that the application using the fonts has to remember which font of the family it’s using before selecting a particular glyph.
