Should I use the <CFINSERT> and <CFUPDATE> tags?

CFFaq.com
If you can, absolutely, there is no reason not to. But be aware that these tags do have significant limitations - they only work with FORM fields, they require that the FORM fields be named the same as the table columns, you cannot do any processing or manipulation of the values, and when updating the row primary key must be present as a FORM field (possibly as a hidden field). edit] How do I activate HTML-Tags, e.g. "<input>" or "<form>" ?

MediaWiki FAQ - Meta
if you need those HTML-tags for one action only (e.g. this PayPal-Button), but don't want HTML to be activated generally, write your own MediaWiki_Extension which outputs your HTML-needs (e.g. PayPal extension). the more "dirty"-way is to add $wgRawHtml = true; to your LocalSettings.php. If you do so, HTML-tags are activated on every page. Note: even after adding $wgRawHtml = true;, it appears you must surround your html tags with <html> and </html>. See similar questions...

Who should definitely make use of <META> tags?

Search Engine Submission Tips
The main HTML file contains the <FRAMESET> tags, but fails to provide robots with any real useful information for selecting a Web site's abstract. Therefore you should include a description summarizing the contents of the frames on your page with <META> tags. If JavaScript code makes up the first several hundred characters on your page, you should use <META> tags to provide a description for your page. See similar questions...

How do I avoid having WebMerge insert <br /> tags?

Fourth World WebMerge FAQ
The only times WebMerge will insert <br /> tags in your data is when your data already contains carriage return characters. Since carriage returns are not displayed in browsers but they are displayed in FileMaker, WebMerge assumes that any returns in your data are there intentionally, to affect display, and will dutifully replace them all with a browser-displayable line break (the <br /> tag). Expect FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
I've never done it, but I know it must be possible because the tgdb package in the Tcl archive uses all of those extensions with Expect. I've done this kind of thing by hand. It's pretty simple. But people tell me the make-a-wish package in the Tcl archive automates the creation of multi-extension Tcl applications. See similar questions...

Why aren't <P>, <B>, <I> etc. tags fully nested?

HTML Parser - HTML Parser Frequently Asked Questions
Authors are sometimes lazy and often fail to close some tags as required by the HTML standard. This causes some problems for the parser. For this heuristic reason, not all possible tags are registered as composite tags, which is what generates the 'parent/child' nesting relationship. It is considered better to have a valid, less nested parse than a possibly invalid parse. You are free to add whatever nodes you like as composite nodes using the prototypical node factory paradigm.
