Rainbow trout are stocked in numerous places around Texas starting in late November or early December and lasting through the end of March. A schedule showing dates and locations for these stockings is posted on the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department website each fall, usually by mid-November. Most of the places stocked are small lakes. Some rivers are stocked.

Brook trout are native to eastern North America and require a year-round supply of cold, oxygenated water (45-60 degrees F. is optimal) whereas rainbows can tolerate warmer water (55-65 degrees F. is optimal) and tend to be somewhat hardier. The brook trout is generally considered the favorite game fish with its beauty, easy catchability and unrivaled table appeal combining to make it the highly reputable fish that it is.

The average rainbow in local lakes is 8-14 inches. A great trout would be anything over 16". An exceptional trout is anything that breaks 20". Destination fly-in lakes and rivers, the average trout is 14" and many reach 16-18", however, there are many, many, many fish.

A new pond should not be stocked too soon - at least a year after pond construction - for the initial decomposition of organic matter in a basin may eat up oxygen and produce gases toxic to fish. In addition, several months are required for establishing a natural food chain in a pond, and it is important not to stock before ample feed is available, either naturally or through supplemental feeding.

We are currently working with eight strains of Rainbow Trout to meet the needs of the provincial stocking program. Each strain have characteristics that make them more or less suitable for a particular stocking treatment. Characteristics that can vary between strains include, feeding ecology, size and appearance and habitat preferences. Factors that influence strain selection for a particular waterbody include the physical, biological and management parameters of the waterbody.

Rarely. Migration is a genetic trait which has been bred out of the fall-spawning rainbows. However, all species of stream trout may move as far as one mile upstream or downstream seeking suitable habitat. Stocked rainbow trout disappear from the streams more quickly than brown trout mainly because they are more vulnerable to angling pressure.  They are doing stream habitat improvement. It provides homes for larger-sized trout and helps to stabilize stream banks.

All coho and chinook salmon die after spawning as part of their life cycles. Brown trout, steelhead and brook trout do not automatically die following spawning, although some will die simply from old age, stress from spawning or an infection such as fungus brought on by spawning activity. Depending on their age, some trout will return to Lake Michigan.

Kilgore Trout is perhaps Vonnegut's fictional alter ego. He is mentioned in many of KV's books as a little known science fiction writer who is usually published in pornographic magazines and books with pictures of ''wide open beavers,'' although his stories have nothing to do with the accompanying photographs. Frequently, Vonnegut will give a synopsis of an amusing story written by Trout, as read by one of Vonnegut's main characters.

A supernumerary rainbow is another name for a double rainbow. The secondary rainbow has its color spectrum reversed, is outside of the original rainbow, and is significantly dimmer than the primary rainbow. The reason why a supernumerary rainbow occurs is because an additional reflection of the light takes place inside the water droplets. Instead of reflecting once in the water droplet, the light reflects twice inside the water, creating a dimmer mirror image of the primary rainbow.

Rainbow is the complement to DeMolay, enrolling girls between the age of 13 and 20 if they are related to members of a Masonic Lodge or the Eastern Star. It confers two degrees, the Initiatory and the Grand Cross of Color.

Since there is a large network of dealers and offices all over India, necessary routine maintenance spares do not need to be stocked by the end user, these are readily available. Failure of any major equipment will require the engine/alternator to be either repaired at site by qualified engineer /technicians or will have to be shifted to the closest authorised workshop. Even in this case no spares need to be stocked by the end user.

Triploidization is a treatment applied to hatchery eggs shortly after fertilization that creates non-reproduction stocks of trout and char. This process results in the creation of a third set of chromosomes (3N) instead of the usual two set (2N). Triploid stocking can result in substantial benefit to angling opportunities including, increased size of fish and minimized impact with wild population.

Broadcasting a handful at a time of floating trout pellets up to a quart (more or less) per 100 8"-10" trout per day during their growing season (when the water temperature is between 50- 65 degrees F.) should ensure several nice meals of trout before season's end. By feeding once a day, at the same time of day (early morning or evening) and from the same place on the edge of the pond, the trout will soon be there waiting at feeding time.

The order of colors in a rainbow goes from low frequency on the outer arc to higher frequency light on the inside of the arc. The full order from outer to inner is: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet.

You have to catch Lugia, Suicune, Raikou and Entei, and then the Wise Trio (in the building that leads to Tin Tower) should give it to you. If you knock out one of those Pokemon instead of catching them, you won't be able to get it.

Camp Rainbow is an overnight, weekend bereavement camp for children ages 5 to 12 who have experienced a loss or are currently living with a loved one with terminal illness. Camp Rainbow is organized by Hospice Support Care, a non-profit, non-medical volunteer hospice support organization providing spiritual, practical, and emotional support to patients and their families.
