Most datasets from before the 1990s are ASCII ("raw data") format. Many more recent datasets are SPSS portable files. Some older datasets are in column-binary formats. We normally convert these to ASCII or SPSS portable formats before providing them to users, but we can supply the column-binary data on request.

This error is related with the graphics driver. Due to some bug in the graphics driver VF receives from the system wrong information about the status of multisampling settings. Solution: The graphics driver is a program written by graphics card manufacturers. It is recommended to update the graphics driver with the hope that in the new version the problem has been solved.

Assuming you have a level scheme in the gls format (e.g. from escl8r or levit8r) then you can easily make a postscript figure directly in gls, xmgls, escl8r or xmesc etc. Use the HC command, or the "Create Postscript Hardcopy File" option from the Files menu. Note that if you select a portion of the scheme to display in an expanded mode (with the EX command) then this will be reflected in the postscript hardcopy too. Alternatively, you can use gls_conv to generate a postscript file.

If you have a level scheme in the gls format (e.g. from escl8r or levit8r) then you can easily make figures of alignments, routhians, moments of inertia etc, as a function of either rotational frequency or spin, by using the program dixie_gls. Run dixie_gls, read in and display your level scheme, and then check out the available commands by typing HE (help). When you are able to generate a figure that you want to keep, use the WP (write displayed data to plot-type file) command.

Note first that the program saves daily backup of its database file automatically to "My Documents\Active Desktop Calendar Backup" folder. Backup and Restore options are available in the Data menu. You can also make backup copies of the program's database file by yourself. The file is named "Active Desktop Calendar.
