The most important thing for this hunt is good footwear. We highly recommend leather boots that are well broken in as well as high quality hiking socks. This is NOT the trip to break in a new pair of boots or to wear cheap socks. You may be walking a great deal, and blisters on a safari are not fun. An extra pair of boot laces is nice to have just in case one breaks. You may want to bring camp shoes so you can get out of your boots if you like. Think "layered clothing" for this hunt.

We offer one-piece snowmobile suits designed with a tightly woven exterior, ploy-filled lining and a quilted interior. The suit (sizes XS to 4XL tall) will keep you very warm accounting for the extreme temperatures and wind-chill factor. Snowmobile boots (sizes up to 15 men's), gloves, a facemask and a helmet (sizes up to XXL) are available for rent, or may be included with your snowmobile package. To compliment your outerwear, bring clothes that can be easily layered.

Raincoat, a pair of stroll shoes and sleepers, 1 woolen undershirt, 3 t-shirts, 2 pairs of trousers, 1 thin tracksuit to be worn in bed, a sweater or pullover, a polar jacket (or something similar), a jacket, a pair of shorts, bathing suit, beret, 4 pairs of socks, hat, towel and personal equipment (toothbrush, toothpaste, sun lotion, soap, etc...) will be enough for the tour. But since this is a pension-accommodated tour, you may bring more clothes.

For any summer trip to Alaska, it is essential that you be prepared for any kind of weather. For that reason, layered clothing is the best approach. This allows you to take off or add clothing according to the temperature. Don't hesitate to bring a pair of gloves and hat even in summer. Warm shoes, at least a pair of sneakers, is also a good idea. It is even better if they are waterproof. For windy days, a scarf is not a bad idea.

For the summer months, shorts, t-shirts, tank tops, and swimwear are great. For the cooler months of the year pants, long sleeved shirts, sweaters, sweatshirts, a jacket, gloves, hats, and shoes that can handle the rain (although you will find most still wear sandals and flip flops a.k.a slippas.) Bring an umbrella! If you are into camping and snow activities, bring your gear and take an Outback trip to Mt. Hood. Outback is a group that provides discounted outdoor trips to our students.

Ireland's climate is mild, frequently damp, highly changeable, with temperatures ranging from 12° to 28° C. We advise that both light and warm clothing is carried, rainwear is essential regardless. Especially for the walking tours, good footwear, i.e. water-proof boots with ankle support are essential. A more detailed list of suggested clothing is enclosed with the tours description once booking has been made.
