Increase your resolution to match the natural resolution of the LCD screen. This will provide a clearer picture. (See your user's manual for recommended setting for your model.)

This has to do with the way the video is loading, not the quality of the video. In order for us to minimize space on our site, all videos have to load in order for you to preview them. The first thing you have to realize is that there is a fundamental difference between a raster image (which is what Raster3D produces) and a PostScript file. The PostScript language is designed to describe characters, lines, and shapes in terms of coordinates on a page of a certain physical size. A raster image knows nothing about characters, lines, shapes, or pages of any size; it's just a bunch of colored dots (pixels).

LCD monitors use liquid crystals sandwiched between various layers of filters and glass. The innermost layer is a fluorescent backlight. The light produced first passes through two polarizing filters then a layer containing cells. Each cell contains liquid crystals. Electric fields then straighten the liquid crystals within the cell so that light is not bent at this level. Each pixel on an LCD monitor comprises of three cells. One cell corresponds to red, one to green, and one to blue.

Disconnect and connect the cables for the AC adapter or power cord. Make sure they are connected securely. Test by plugging the power cord directly into the wall power outlet.

The resolution and/or the refresh rate is set up too high than the monitor is capable of (please check the LCD monitor specification). If you use Win 3.1 or Win NT 4.0, please set the resolution and/or the refresh rate according to the monitor specification.

Please connect the monitor to a different computer to eliminate a possibility of video card (in your computer) problem.

On a CRT monitor, the picture control, often misleadingly labelled contrast, adjusts overall luminance. The black level control, often misleadingly labelled brightness, adjusts offset. Display a picture that is predominantly black. Adjust black level so that the monitor reproduces true black on the screen, just at the threshold where it is not so far down as to "swallow" codes greater than the black code, but not so high that the picture sits on a pedestal of dark grey.

The Live View feature allows you to use the LCD monitor as a viewfinder to compose shots or to shoot while viewing an enlarged display on the monitor. While setting up a shot, changes you make to the Exposure Compensation and White Balance (WB) settings are previewed on the Live View monitor so you can see their effect before shooting. You can adjust the brightness of the LCD monitor from the [SETUP] menu. Press the [MENU] button and use the arrow pad to select [SETUP]. Press the [OK/FUNCTION] button to advance to the next screen. First, try some other video capture application (e.g. xawtv) to make sure that your device is properly working and the correct driver is loaded. If your video standard is NTSC or SECAM, check that the proper video norm is selected: you need to add VideoNorm NTSC or VideoNorm SECAM to the global section of your configuration file. Note that the VideoNorm directive was implemented in version 2.4.1 of the server; all previous versions forced the video norm to PAL. If you are running a pre-2.4.

If you have problems reading text or seeing images on your screen such as buttons & graphics you may need to adjust the resolution on your display. You can do this by right-clicking once in an empty space on your desktop and left-clicking Properties on the menu that should popup. This will open the Display Properties window. Click on the Settings tab on the top of the window and on the right-hand side of the screen, make sure your Resolution (or display area) should say 800x600.
