SPECweb99 is not the right tool for sizing a server. SPECweb99 was not designed as a capacity planning tool. However, it does provide information on how web servers handle this specific workload. In general, SPECjms2007 should not be used to size a JMS server configuration, because it is based on a specific type of workload. However, in certain cases, the benchmark can be used for rough sizing if the target application workload can be approximated using a customized SPECjms2007 workload. For this purpose, the benchmark provides a freeform topology that can be used to build a custom workload tailored to the customer requirements using SPECjms2007 components as building blocks.

SPECjAppServer2004 is an industry-standard benchmark designed to measure the performance of application servers conforming to the J2EE 1.3 or later specifications. The two previous benchmarks (SPECjAppServer2001 and SPECjAppServer2002) were basically a repackage of the ECperf benchmark, which was designed to meet the J2EE 1.2 standards specification. The design and layout were left basically unchanged in order to get the benchmarks released quickly.

SPECjAppServer2004 was developed by the Java subcommittee's core design team. BEA, Borland, Darmstadt University of Technology, HP, IBM, Intel, Oracle, Pramati, Sun and Sybase participated in design, implementation and testing phases of the product. Downspout diameters are sized according to the roof area they drain. You can determine the size of cooktop cover you need by measuring the widest point on the cooktop, measuring the deepest point on the cooktop and measuring the highest point above the counter top. Check your measurements to be sure you have the correct dimensions. Special order cooktop covers are custom manufactured to the dimensions you provide and are not returnable.
