Our ATV License Plate Kit does not make your ATV street legal. Some states do allow ATV's to be used on the road when outfitted with the proper equipment. However, the ATV License Plate Kit is for displaying your off- road registration decal and/or assigned numbers on the back of your ATV.

Make sure you are installing the ATV License Plate Kit in the proper area. The proper area should be your grab rail in the back of your quad or the luggage rack. If the clamps are still too small, try removing the rubber grommets that are wrapped around each clamp. If the license plate clamps are still too small, use the wire ties that are included in each package for installation.

If you plan to ride on the 'roads' then yes you must be a licensed driver and your vehicle must be licensed as well. However, a drivers license is not required to ride 'off-road'.

The "Off-Road" plate on your ATV is only an indication that the ATV has been titled in the State of Arizona. It is NOT a registration plate and does not allow you to ride on roads that require your vehicle to be registered.

You may NOT ride an ATV, off-road vehicle, motorcycle, or other motorized vehicle anywhere on Corps of Engineers property that encompasses Lake Cumberland. License plate requirements vary state by state, but many states require your vehicle’s rear license plate to be visible at all times. We include a License Plate Kit (Item #020.7) free with our Swingaway carriers, otherwise it is an optional accessory item. The License Plate Kit mounts to your Cargo Carrier box and plugs directly into the StowAway2 wire harness.

ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) is the general term used to describe a vehicle designed for off-road use. This could include quad bikes, Landrovers, Argo-Cats etc. Quad bikes are the sit-astride four wheel bikes with handlebars. The farming community tends to call them ATVs, while the forestry calls them ATCs (All Terrain Cycles). Leisure users tend to use the term Quad Bike. We use the term interchangeably!

Rampart Range Road is a county road and all the rules of public roadways apply. Any vehicle operating on the road must have a valid license plate, permanently mounted in a visible location, and the operator must posses a valid drivers license with a motorcycle endorsement. The exceptions to this rule are portions of Dakan Road, Jackson Creek Road and Watson Park Road. See the trail information for more details. If you are caught, you WILL receive a ticket!

PennDOT offers a person with disability plate that provides parking privileges and they offer a person with disability parking placard. (The placard hangs on the vehicle's rear view mirror and provides the same parking privileges as the person with disability plate.) Unfortunately, they are unable to offer specialty plates with the handicapped insignia on it. A customer can apply for a PA Breast Cancer Coalition plate and apply for a person with disability parking placard.

Yes. If you already have a personalized plate you can pay the appropriate fees and add your message to a Share the Road plate.

If you already have a standard personalized plate: Visit your local vehicle licensing office to add the message to a Share the Road plate. Check to make sure the personalized plate you want is available and that the combination of characters is acceptable.

Quad bikes are designed for off-road use only. They have special low pressure tyres which are not road legal. Most bikes have a fixed back axle, which makes them unsuitable for cornering on hard surfaces. The factory supplied lighting kits do not conform with the Road Traffic Act. From a comfort and vehicle safety standpoint, the ATV must meet certain vehicle harmonic requirements. The answer, therefore, is no .... in almost all circumstances.

The model number for the light bulb used in our License Plate Bracket and Kit is C168. It can be found at your local automotive or hardware store. No, not unless you and the recipient are both registered owners of the vehicle that will bear these plates.

OHRV operation is prohibited on public roads unless specifically permitted and posted for OHRV use. Examples of permitted uses are road crossings and trail connectors. In such areas the speed limit is 10 MPH and OHRVs must stay to the extreme right side of the public way. They cannot operate from trail head to trail head. <return to top of page>
