HND is short for Higher National Diploma. The Higher National Diploma qualification has obtained recognition throughout the world as both a route to employment and as a suitable exemption for a part of a university degree. The Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computing and Business Applications has been developed to enable participants to exploit knowledge of computing, web based development and marketing to further their own aspirations.

HND is a recognised qualification for higher education or employment. After successful completion of the HND you could move on to the second or third year of a related degree course in the UK or US.

These qualifications are at a level between A levels and a three year Honours degree. They are great for people who may not want to study for too long (both last for tow years). Both qualifications ask for between one or two AS levels and one A level. Students can transfer onto a three year degree course if they want to, either at the end of the course or mid-way, depending on the university’s policy.
