You have two choices. Split the video across multiple DVD discs, or use lower encoding quality. Our Hi-Quality encoding fills a DVD with 60 minutes of video, our Std-Q encoding to put up to 2 hours of video on each DVD disc.

DVD Infinity uses Hollywood grade compression and has an uncompromising high quality standard and whilst in some circumstances it is possible to put more on, we regret we are unable to put more than 100 minutes, as this would unacceptably reduce quality. Note that it is possible to store many times this amount on a DVD. However, it will always lose quality. Imagine trying to pack more and more people in a mini minor. It might work well with two or even four people.

For a single layer disc, I generally recommend one and a half hours. This allows for menus etc, and retains the highest quality video image. You can stretch it out longer, but it inversely impinges upon the quality of the video. There are many other aspects which will also affect the amount of footage to a modest degree, such as quality of the source material, stability of the shots etc, all of which influence the data rate when compressing to mpeg.

For Video CD, your DVD player must be capable of playing VideoCD 2.0 discs. Check the specifications page in the instructions included with your DVD player to see if the VCD format is supported. Your DVD player must be compatible with the type of DVD or CD disc used to record your title. Many DVD players are not compatible with some brands of -R, -RW, +R or +RW discs. Your DVD player must support the speed at which you burned your media.

In the past few decades, various episodes of UFO have been released on home video in various countries. However, in 2002-3 UFO was completely remastered and released on DVD in England, America, France, Italy, and Japan! Plus during 2005, there are plans to release UFO on DVD in Germany and Australia! In England, Carlton Visual Entertainment released UFO on DVD in two deluxe sets each containing 4 discs, plus these same discs were released as 8 individual volumes.

Not a problem. By compressing your data, Simple Backup can store up to 1.2 gigabytes of information on a single CD, or up to 9.4 gigabytes on a DVD. If your backup is larger than that, Simple Backup will fill up the first disc and then ask you to insert a second one. Simple Backup lets your data span up to 32 discs.

We can accept as many video tapes (and movie films) as you want us to combine, as long as their total length is no longer than 120 minutes. Your Windows Display Properties need to be set at 800X600 or bigger - 1027X768 best, 16m color or better (256 color looks very bad in MBD), and make sure your fonts in 'Advanced' are set to 'small' - Normal size (96 DPI) . [TIP] -

Most DVD movies that you buy or rent are recorded on "dual layered" commercial grade DVDs. These types of discs are known as "DVD-9" discs and they can hold up to 9 GB of data. Blank DVDs that you buy to copy movies are "single layered" and can only hold 4.7 GB of data.

Yes, The high end PC's available today usually come with the necessary hardware and software to connect your camcorder, edit your movies and burn your own DVD's. Prices are coming down but it is still a balance as to how many DVD's you are likely to burn for the investment in buying the necessary equipment. The software usually provided is limited function and you will need to upgrade to get full function editing and DVD production software.
