Still Menu" with audio loop playing: The still menu can be submitted in any flattened format (e.g.- .tiff, .jpeg, .pict, .targa, and .psd)- but .tiff and .psd are preferred. Our art department uses Corel Draw ver. 11 and AI ver. 10 for designing wristbands. Depending on the print quality desired, our artist could use a BMP, GIF, EPS, AI, or JPEG format. We will do our best to make your wristbands look the best!

This is a compression format most commonly used on PCs. Programs such as PKZIP and WinZip can be used to open the file. If you are a Macintosh user, you can open this format using Stuffit Expander.

Shorten (extension .shn) is an audio compression scheme written by Tony Robinson of SoftSound that can compact wav files without subtracting out any frequencies. It's "lossless"- everything in the original wav is there, so that full quality is maintained. For many traders of live music, Shorten files (shns) therefore have an undisputed advantage over "lossy" mp3-format files.

Artwork for all custom sign letters, plaques and logos need to be vector based. Vector--eps, ai, dxf, cdr--(not jpeg, gif or bitmap) files are required for provided production artwork. Art charges of $25.00 or more apply to non-compliant art to facilitate file conversions. NO art charges for text-only, standard-size plaques. Bitmaps, tiffs, gifs and jpegs are welcomed for layout & logo submissions.

I can not find any explanation in the manual on the call graph section > of the map file generated by the linker. > - Some functions are marked with a star. These are functions on the critical path - i.e. if you want to reduce the amount of RAM used for arguments and locals, you can ignore those functions NOT marked with a star, because they do not influence the total. Of course if you change a critical function, and reduce the RAM needed, other functions may then become critical.

XCF is GIMP's "native" format. This will preserve all information about an image, including the layers.

We encourage you to send .TIF files or native documents from Adobe Photoshop® (.psd). .JPEGs and .GIF files are also acceptable although there are certain limitations Please make sure your document is saved at the size you want it printed and that it has a resolution of 300 pixels per inch or greater.

There is not a prescribed format for the log file. The log file is to aid diagnosing problems in an executable. In deciding which information to write to the log file, participants should avoid making the log file too large. If too much information is reported, the file could be too large. If the file is too large it may not be possible for FRVT 2006 personnel to search the log file to provide you with useful information.

We can scan existing texts and covers. During the process of scanning a book the cover and binding are destroyed. The final quality of the books that are subsequently printed is directly influenced by the shape of the original. There will be a degradation in quality in some cases (e.g. photographs) due to the process. The printed cover will approximate that of your monitor or printer but it will not be exactly alike.

The map is in PNG (portable network graphics) format, because our version of PHP3 doesn't have GIF support installed for copyright reasons. I support open-source software, and prefer using PNG anyway. If you can't view PNG files, click on the checkbox marked "Use JPEG format?" to see the map in JPEG format. Because JPEGs aren't as good for line drawing (such as maps), the map appears a bit fuzzier in JPEG mode.
