We use either 25mm or 35mm polycarbonate on our conservatory roofs. Although 25mm thick polycarbonate sheeting is still the industry standard in the UK, more and more conservatories are moving on to the 35mm polycarbonate.

Once the 10+” of wool layers are stuffed into the cotton cover, the final thickness of the Cuddle Ewe Underquilt is approximately 3”. With use, the Cuddle Ewe Underquilt will compress to a thickness of about 1.5” to 2”. This is very normal and to be expected. Once the wool has compressed, there is nothing that can be done to re-fluff it, but it will still be comfortable. With proper care, you can maintain the Cuddle Ewe’s loftiness for a long time.

We use the following colours:- Bronze, Clear, Opal, Bronze/Opal, Heatguard ( also known as heatshield or silver/opal), Blue Opal, Green Opal and Yellow Opal. The most common polycarbonate colour we use is the Opal polycarbonate.

We do not use plastic or polycarbonate lenses from results of extensive long term testing. They do offer great strength but will cloud overtime in salt water and can be very easily scratched diminishing the light output. It is impossible to polish the surface back to new, unless a flame is applied which should only be done by a plastics specialist. It is no longer a simple case of power. It comes down to design, technology and size.

X-5 X-treme, V-600, V-600CS, V-400E, V-300, V-300CS, V-300-7 and All Fold-A-Vent Products can be used with any roof pitch from 3/12 to 16/12. For hip applications minimum over all roof pitch must be at least a 4/12 pitch. (The old style V-400 can only be used with up to a 10/12 pitch roof.)

Polycarbonate is the other material commonly used in domed skylights. Polycarbonate is used in applications where impact resistance is a requirement. It is the material used in our Miami-Dade Approved Hurricane Impact Skylights. It is even popular in areas that may be prone to Hail Damage. Polycarbonate can be formed just as easily as acrylic.

V-400E, V-300, Fold-A-Vent and the X-5 Ridge Vents are all recommended to be used with shingles, slate or flat tile on hip roofs. Note: over-all roof pitch should be at least 4/12 and caulking under the vent is recommended. With heavy weight shingles the hip application would be the same as with a slate or flat tile roof. Yes. We carry a set of roof rails that you can bolt onto your roof. Once on, they work just as well as any stock set of rails. And, after you add the crossbars, you are ready to strap on a roof rack or a roof bag right to the top of your ride. For a secure fit, you will have to drill a few holes into your roof to mount the rails. They use an ingenious riveting system that delivers a firm grip and looks factory-installed.

Solexx greenhouses are made with polyethylene. Polyethylene is much more flexible and is easy to cut to any size. Polycarbonate panels tend to be thicker, but have about the same insulation factor as polyethylene. Both materials diffuse light, but polycarbonate diffuses less (because it is more transparent), making the greenhouses much hotter in the summer. Polyethylene is very easy to clean and will not scratch like polycarbonate.

Standard methods for checking cladding thickness on installed components utilize eddy current instruments to measure cladding thickness, or ultrasonic instruments to measure overall thickness, then subtracting a known substrate thickness. Once the cladding thickness is known, overall wear life can be extrapolated due to Conforma Clad's predictable wear rates. Substrates can be received in any microstructural condition.

Our floors and wheel boxes are made of 9mm plywood and our sides and door panels are cut from 6mm plywood.

It varies depending on the piece and what it is to be used for. Obviously an armour for purely decorative purposes can be made using thinner sheet steel than if it were to be worn. The more hammer work imparted to a piece the more it will be stretched and thinned in places so one would start with a thicker sectioned plate. I generally use 0.9 and 1.2mm. mild steel for decorative armour ( 20 gauge and 18 gauge ).

That depends on the manufacturer, the species ... seemingly the day of week. We don't make our own veneers and so have no control over thickness. You should assume there will be differences in thickness between species.

Good idea in snow country, or if you're in an area where water is scarce. Think about a "rain catchment" system with a metal roof, gutters, and a holding tank.

It is not recommended that you use ZMesh underneath a metal roof. We recommended that Tuff Cable in Heatsink be used instead.

This question is mostly found at wings, and the answer is if you're coming from .016, then yes, .020 is better and .025 for top surfaces is possible as well to arrive at a better appearing construct surface. Be careful to know how much weight will be added in each case that this is done.
