In most cases, when a passport renewal is issued, the old passport will be cancelled and returned with the new passport. Citizens wishing to renew their U.S. Passports which are less than 15 years old from the date of issue may pick up the renewal form at the library and they may submit them through the mail. CHCBL will also accept your application for renewal but you must pay the postal cost for mailing which is $4.05. All U.S. citizens (including infants) must possess their own valid passport when traveling internationally. Parents may sign for a child who is too young to sign their own name by signing their name and their relationship to the child. Only a mother, father or legal guardian can fill out, sign and submit passport documentation for children under 13. Remember that the child must be present at the passport acceptance agent location with current ID.

The City of Huntington Beach City Clerk's Office, located on the second floor of the City Hall building, is designated as an authorized United States Passport Acceptance Facility.
