The unofficial transcript is an informal record of all the classes you have taken at CSUN as well as your grades and GPA. You can print your unofficial transcript by logging on to the web portal www.csun.edu/portal.

Official transcripts display the University seal and the registrar’s signature and are only available through the Office of Student Records. These transcripts are usually required for employment and educational purposes. Unofficial transcripts are available online through RamLink and are for informational purposes only.

The Office of the University Registrar does not issue unofficial transcripts. If an official transcript is not necessary, students may want to access the Student Central web portal to print copies of their unofficial record.

In the ACCESS system under "Student Records", there is an option labeled "View Transcipt". This is the same option that you use when you want to order an official transcript online. Unlike the official transcript, you may print out an unofficial transcript from your computer without charge. Simply select the 'Print' option in your browser, select the printing options you would like to use, and your unofficial transcript will print out at your printer.

You may request a transcript for your records, but you will have to pay the $7.00 fee and it will actually be an Official Transcript Issued "To Student". With respect to unofficial transcripts, they are available only to currently enrolled students. Yes, an unofficial transcript or Internet printout of your transcript is acceptable as long as it is clearly labeled with your name, current academic year, your cumulative grade point average, and the name of the college/university. For high school seniors, your first semester senior-year grades must be recorded, along with your cumulative grade point average. Grade point average must be reported based on a 4.0 unweighted scale. Include your ACT or SAT scores if available.

To check your records, go to the PSU Information System (banweb), enter your PSU Student ID number (the on the bottom of your OneCard) and your initial pin (your birthday using six digits, e.g., 011094 for Jan 10 1994—you should change this pin later). Click on “Student Services & Financial Aid,” then on “Student Records” to display your grades/unofficial transcript. If you do not see your grades listed, it may be because it has not yet been recorded.

When you submit the transcript request, please indicate any special instructions on the form and we will send the necessary documents along with the transcript to the appropriate institution. Wait lists are not evaluated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Official copies are usually required for other universities, institutes, scholarship sponsors, certification, and employment. Unofficial copies are normally used for a student's personal use. Some institutions accept unofficial copies temporarily until an official copy can be sent. Check with the institution that is requiring your transcript in order to determine which transcript to request.

If you're a currently enrolled student, you can sign up with WebAdvisor and print it yourself. You must know your student identification number and have a valid email address, in order to access it. If you are not a current student, you have to request an official copy. Go to Transcripts.

The are several ways to receive a copy of your transcript: (1) You can come by the Registrar’s Office and pick one up. The Registrar’s Office can certify enrollment for your Health/Auto Insurance. However, you must fill out the Student Certification/Verification Request form and submit it 2 -4 days prior to pick up. The Enrollment Certification letter can be faxed or mailed directly to the recipient.
