Yes. During any given solar cycle, sunspots will appear preferentially in either the north or south hemisphere. Additionally, there will usually be an ‘active’ and an ‘inactive’ east-west hemisphere.

The prefix “hemi” means half, and when combined with sphere it literally means half sphere. The earth, or a globe that models it, can therefore be readily divided into half or hemispheres. As used in context with the earth or world globes, there are four hemispheres. The northern/southern hemispheres are divided along the circle defined by equator.
