The construction of a Whaler is based on the "Uni-Bond" technique where two relatively thin uncured laminated shells are bonded together and filled with a liquid which quickly expands into foam. A mechanical fitting attaches to cable in the following way: the fitting compresses the cable with a cone inside the fitting and/or cable. Mechanical fittings are assembled to the cable with simple hand tools.
