The Parks and Recreation Department offers several sites throughout the park system that are ideal for very special occasions such as weddings and parties. The most popular sites are: Lincoln Park Wedding Plaza, Lincoln Park Gazebo, Sunset Park Overlook, Longview Park Conservatory, and Hauberg Civic Center. Special Events that are open to the general public or have amplified music must obtain permission from the Rock Island Park Board at least one to two months in advance.

The bowling alley at Chelsea Piers is part of the national chain, AMF. 300 New York operates as a separate business from Chelsea Piers’ other sports venues. If you are interested in booking bowling only, please call AMF at 212.835.2695 and their event team can provide you with information about availability, as well as catering/beverage packages at 300 New York.

No organized practices are allowed out of season. An organized practice is one where a coach is working directly with a pre-determined number of players at one time. For Basketball, the number of players that constitute an organized practice is four. (NSAA 3.2) For Bowling, that rule would be determined at a later date.]

The Stark Galleries may be reserved for receptions, lectures, or other events sponsored by University organizations only. Private events, such as wedding receptions, are not permitted. Usually, yes, as long as you do not use a flash. However, some of the exhibits we bring in are so delicate that photography is not permitted at all. We will post signs or you can check at the guard desk if you are not certain.

Murder Mystery Events are a unique way of getting people to interact in a relaxing friendly atmosphere. They are an ideal ice breaker for a corporate meeting or convention, awards dinner, conference, staff incentive event, or fundraiser. They are a great way to celebrate a hen night or stag night, a special birthday or anniversary or have a great Christmas party as they are unique and provide special memories which make our events unforgettable!

Where the relevant licensable activities include the supply of alcohol, the notice must make it a condition of using the premises for such supplies, that all such supplies are made by or under the authority of the premises user (i.e. the person who applied for the Temporary Event Notice).

If you plan a fundraising event outside of your home and will be serving or selling liquor, you may be required to obtain a liquor license. Contact your liquor licensing board directly to ensure that you comply with their policies and receive appropriate approvals, licenses and permits. If you wish to hold a raffle or 50/50 draw, you must apply for a license from the Gaming Commission.

When you submit the General Permit Application, please provide a complete detailed event plan that includes, organization background, event purpose, expected attendance, site plan, vendor list (including name and contact information), security plan, waste management plan, traffic management plan, health dept certificates and insurance. Parks will review the application and request an event plan review with the organization before the application can be processed.

Traditionally, Webby Winners are honored at a Gala Awards event held in early June. See some highlights from last year's event or read about it here. The 12th Annual Webby Awards will be held June 1-3, 2008. The VIP invite-only awards celebration is a major media event where you get to rub elbows with other winners and the industry's foremost professionals, luminaries and celebrities. Winners do NOT need to attend to receive their awards, although many do attend.

A grant is available for individuals holding events which preserves the culture of Shiroishi and/or promotes youth development in Shiroishi. The amount of the grant is based on several factors such as the annual budget, the event's forecasted budgets etc, however up to half of the costs for the event can be awarded.
