Open "CT Atlas". A menu will appear on the left side of the window with a list of all of the predefined CT maps. Click "Begin Printing" at the bottom of the list. See page 6 of "The Colorado Trail Users Guide" included in the CD box for further information on the CTAtlas.

For large JPEG and GIF map images, the map must be resized to print the entire image (see below). Even after resizing, the quality and legibility of the printed map is dependent upon the quality of your printer. For quickly printing the less detailed maps, you can save the map image file to your hard drive, and then open Microsoft Word. Select Insert from the menu bar, then Picture/File.

One of the employees of Cambridge Multimedia, Robin Burrows, is currently working on a Windows application, MoguLike, that allows for the creation of MediaMogul compatible scripts without the need for MediaMogul itself. A demo version of this program can be downloaded at the PC/Windows downloads page at this website. The print directory and the Database on CD-ROM contain the same data. However, database edition is more comprehensive because we are always adding to it. Also, the CD-ROM can be searched and sorted on any of the data elements. More organizations are opting to get the database information this way to insure its accuracy. This also makes it easy to create mailing lists, telesales cards, or sales territory assignments.

You may find it useful to copy a collection of maps if you have bought several titles. You can then work on two map data sets at once and thus access a larger number of map scales without continually having to switch CD-ROMs. The data sets take up between 400 and 550 Mb on the CD-ROM. A CD-ROM may have several thousand files that make up a map data set. When copying the Mapdata directory to your hard drive, make sure you have enough disk space for the transfer.

There will be three CD-ROM for 50m grid covering entire Japan. CD-ROM has to be exchanged for every time when you are near the border of the CD-ROM. All CD-ROM can be compressed and combined so that entire Japan can be displayed continuously. Select [File] - [Compress Digital Map] and [Compose all Japan (for CD-ROM)]. If the Japan II and Japan II are combined the size of the compressed map will be about 330 Mbyte. There is no function available to combine compressed file and original file.

If the CD-ROM is inserted to the drive [FIle] - [Open] - [Map] - [Digital Map 50m Grid] or Digital Map 250m Grid] menu will come up. Then you can open all maps independent with the folder allocation. Reading the data directly from the CD-ROM reduces the performance. It is recommended to save the map as a compressed map into the HD although it takes a little time. You need for a 50m grid digital map about 170 Mbyte and it takes about 30 minutes to process it.

Most areas within the CD-ROM and Web site work within frames. To print from a framed page, you must move your cursor to the part of the page you wish to print and select it. Then send the page to the printer. If you want to print different frames on a given page, you will need to select each section and print them individually.

Why don't I get the CD-ROM version of my book at the same time I receive my print version?The primary reason is that each print book is printed as soon as the production of that particular book is finished. The printing and distribution doesn't depend on the timing of other books. For CDs, we often have several titles updating on a CD in any given month. As a result, we must wait until all of the books are complete before the CD can be manufactured and any of the CDs are delivered to you.
