Your email client software (e.g., Outlook Express) may have an option to "leave mail on server". If this option is selected inadvertently or otherwise, your mailbox (on the server) may fill up and cause you not to be able to receive email, even if you've already read your email.

Open up the Settings->Configure KMail... window. Click on the Network tab. Select your account from the account list and click the Modify... button. This dialog contains the Delete mail from server setting which you must not select.

Your email will queue up on our server cluster until your mail server comes back online. No email will be lost or returned.

If your mail server is unavailable to receive email from our network, we will store it for 7 days or until your server is back online. If for some reason you are unable to get your server back online within 7 days, we can forward it to another location or create webmail boxes so your users can continue to send and retrieve mail.

All you need to do is send an e-mail or fax to your PMI Client Service Representative and let her know your plans. Your CSR can hold your mail here until further notice or re-direct it to a new delivery address anywhere. We can even scan it and e-mail it to you.

Email sent to your address is stored on a mail server until you retrieve it using email software (Outlook Express, Netscape Messenger, Eudora, etc.) or delete it using NetDexia WebMail.

When you fail to deliver an email via our smtp/outgoing server, you will get a return mail from the mail server. You can find the description inside that email about the failure of the delivery. Check your email account settings to make sure you have the correct email server name. The server name for both incoming and outgoing email should be shawmail. Some users — especially users with home network routers — may be unable to connect using "shawmail" as the server name. If you’re experiencing this problem, try using the full server name for your region, which is listed on the Server Names page.

The security problem extends, unfortunately, to the e-mail protocol itself. Mail administrators are required to return, as undeliverable, any messages addressed to an invalid address on a particular network (such as SBCIS). This opens up the possibility for abuse by spammers running software that attempts to send messages to as many different addresses as possible. (See above.)

All these terms are used by various email clients to describe the username for an email-id. Every email-id has a username attached to it, which is supplied along with a password to the mail server while retrieving emails. This is same as your pop-id.

Open WinGate and under the System Tab double click on the Email Option. Under the Delivery Tab, select from the How to deliver pull down menu ''Use Gateway'' and enter in the 3rd party mail server you wish the mail to be sent to. You can also select ''Use Gateway for Undeliverable Mail'' and all mail that can not be sent directly would use the 3rd party mail server to send the mail.

You may see the same messages over and over again. If the users are pure POP3 users, they will have no way of telling the server to either refill mail into a read mail folder, when they choose to leave mail on the server. Moreover, the POP3 client does not delete the mail after retrieving it, so they may see the messages over and over again until leave mail on the server is turned off. The only use for this is as a temporary setting when someone has to use another PC on the road.

When "Leave Mail on Server" is selected, your mail client does not issue the commands to our mail server to delete the messages once they are downloaded. This means your mailbox will never decrease in size. If this happens over an extended period of time (or a fairly short period of time, if you receive a number of messages, or messages with binary attachments), you will eventually hit the drive space quota allowed for your account.

You can configure multiple e-mail servers and Tembria Server Monitor will try each of them in order until it can successfully send the notification. If you need notification in the event of total network failures you might consider using voice notifications.

You will be unable to log into your account, effective immediately. ALL account-no exceptions-must have a valid email account. After that occurs, you cannot simply email Aria to fix it for you.
