The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) National Flood Insurance Program produced a set of Flood Insurance Rate Maps that define the areas located within the 100-year flood zone. These maps also show the base flood elevation for those areas located within the 100-year flood zone, areas of the 500-year flood and those areas determined to be outside the 500-year flood plain. Flood determinations are routinely required when obtaining a mortgage or refinancing your property.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency issues Flood Insurance Rate Maps which show areas that have a 1% or greater chance of flooding.

A flood zone certification is done to determine if flood insurance is required on your loan or not. ChoiceOne Mortgage Company of MI is required by law to have this certification in each loan file. The certification is life of loan coverage and we are notified of any flood plain changes that affect your property.

You can find out what flood zone you are in by calling our message line at (916) 874-7517. You will need to leave your name, phone number, and the assessor's parcel number (APN) of the property. You can obtain the APN by calling the Assessor's Office at (916) 875-0700. Someone will get back to you within two business days.

The Department of Growth and Environmental Management , located at 3401 West Tharpe Street, has information which may be useful in making a general determination. We will assist you in looking at the materials we have if you desire to make an appointment. However for site specific information you will probably find it necessary to consult with a professional for an on-site evaluation.

Box 5453, Mt Laurel, NJ 08054. We will have our mapping company review it. You will receive written notification of the outcome of our research.

The Public Works Department has reference copies of the FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Maps available at the Village Hall. Please feel free to call or stop in. If you provide the street address, the Public Works staff can tell you the flood zone for your property. For your convenience, you can also view a map of Lincolnshire's floodplain online.

Insurance companies usually require this information: Zone D, Panel # 065026, Map Date March 22, 1999. You can print out a letter with this information below.
