Yes. If you have a slide presentation that you are projecting frequently, glass-mounting offers additional protection for your valuable slides. It also prevents much of the distortion and burning that can come from frequent use of high-lumen projectors. We use Gepe AN-R glass mounts.

Tint is the bane of all defrosters as it sticks to both the glass and the defroster and if removed can pull off the conductive elements on the defroster damaging it sometimes irreparably. Unfortunately replacing an existing grid with the Clear View defroster can be problematic. It can be difficult or impossible to fully remove the existing defroster from your vehicle.

We scan glass mounts, but ask that you arrange the slides in the proper orientation (front/back), because orientation can be difficult to determine by looking at a glass-mounted slide. While glass or plastic mounts protect the slide from scratches, they don't seal out dust and dirt. When we can, we'll open the mount if the slide is out of alignment, but we won't open all the mounts to clean them unless you call us first to make special arrangements.

Since glass mount antennas are glued to your cars glass and the antennas cable is a little harder to run inconspicuously through the car's interior, we highly recommend professional installation of glass mount antennas. You also need to consider window features that can block your signal such as tinting, defroster wires, and passivated glass (glass impregnated with tiny metal particles that render the glass incapable of coupling RF between the inside and outside couplers).

You may wish to purchase one of the JIG-IT™ templates, which are listed with many of the groups of slides. This template works with a self-centering bit for lining up perfectly centered holes. While it is possible to mount the slides without a template, using one will make the installation easier and faster.

We typically cut a thin decorative laminate in the shape of the sign that is applied to the back of the glass. This covers all adhesive used to mount the sign. A less expensive vinyl solution is also available. Notify your sales associate at the time of order if mounting on glass.

The glass in a vehicle is not a substantial barrier for a cell phone signal, therefore a glass-mount antenna is not recommended. The separation between the outside and inside antennas must include a metal barrier (such as the roof of the vehicle). The metal acts like a shield and limits the possibility of oscillation in the amplifier. Oscillation (feedback) can result in poor performance and may eventually damage the amplifier.
