In recent years the increased number of proposals and widening variety of considerations needed in the review process, along with efforts to make the process more transparent and accessible, overwhelmed the traditional process. Thus far electronic submission has resulted in fewer flawed proposals, a more timely and ordered review process, and opportunity for fuller consideration by the appropriate bodies and the university community at large.

An adjunct faculty cannot be the primary author of the grant proposal. However, the adjunct may be a collaborator and co-applicant involved in and benefiting from the proposed project.

When you take the test, there is a box to check to request that the results be sent to you by e-mail (see http://www.indiana.edu/~rcr). The e-mail is the only documentation that you will receive. It is not necessary to include the e-mail with your grant proposal. The following section explains what forms must be sent with a proposal.

Current policy limits applicants to only one active EISG award at a time. New proposals can be submitted only after the prior grant project is completed and the EISG Program Administrator has published an Independent Assessment Report on the project.

Participation in EAP alone is not sufficient in and of itself; you must show evidence of a research plan while abroad that is directly related to the completion of a senior honors thesis. While you are technically eligible to apply, your application will probably not be as strong as the others who are more advanced in their research, and so your chances of obtaining funding are rather slim, especially if the applicant pool is competitive.
