The Vent-Free Series units can sit on a wood floor. However, most wood burning Isokern fireplaces cannot. The one exception to this, is the Fire-Lite Series. Please consult your local sales representative or dealer for proper fireplace selection and placement. Vented gas logs can be used with the Standard, Magnum and Patio Series fireplace systems. These gas logs range from 50,000 BTU to 100,000 BTU maximum. The Vent-Free Series specifies the use of AGA listed 'vent-free' log sets.

All of our wood and oil fireplaces require a chimney, either a masonry or A vent, stainless steel chimney and in the case of our oil stoves, L vent is also acceptable. The diameter of the chimney must match the size of the fireplace flue collar to effectively vent the products of combustion. Consequently, an existing chimney may need to be lined with a stainless steel liner to meet venting requirements of a specific fireplace.

No, a vacuum is used to catch the soot and dust before it enters the room and also for cleaning off the ledge after sweeping the chimney. Using a good quality chimney sweeping brush or a combination of brushes is the only method, at the moment, which will clean the chimney properly.
