ASCAP is a membership organization which licenses the public performance of its writer and publisher members' works. ASCAP does not print, publish, or sell music. You must contact the publisher to ascertain if sheet music is available.

Copyright owners enjoy a number of different rights including performance rights, print rights and recording rights. Rental or purchase of sheet music or the purchase of a record does not authorize its public performance.

Many libraries include sheet music in their catalogs and you can look for specific titles through standard searches such as author, composer, title, and subject headings. Usually there is limited access to illustrations, although there are certainly exceptions (Brown University provides excellent subject access to illustrations for some of their sheet music, for instance).

Sheet music belongs to the choir and is only on loan. Upon termination, a member is required to return his music to the Notenwart. Music is organized by number and each member is responsible to maintain his music in an orderly manner in a ring binder and keep it in good condition. There will be a charge of $1.00 per sheet to replace lost music.

Currently there is no comprehensive guide to sheet music repositories in other countries. How you would find out about these resources would depend on the particular country and topic. A listserv or chatroom specific to your topic may prove to be the most efficient method of answering questions.

For the most part, yes. Check out the March and April '99 updates in the News section to find the sheet music, as made by some fans of the series.

Composers are entitled to a performance fee from radio stations, television stations, theaters outside the U.S. for the right to publicly perform their music as synchronized in a film, television production, advertisement or other medium. Licensees must therefore prepare an accurate cue sheet of all music (including royalty free music) used in the production to assist in the collection of these performance fees by the composer or the composer's designated performing rights society.

The short answer is no. There is little if any commercially available sheet music for XTC songs. In 1981 XTC released Eleven Different Animals - Words and Music to the Singles in the UK, a book with sheet music and guitar charts for eleven XTC songs, but that book has been out of print and unavailable since. In 1982 sheet music for “Senses Working Overtime” was printed in the UK. A few transcriptions of XTC songs were included in various issues of The Little Express.

They are unrestricted versions that can be printed, copied to other documents, moved from computer to computer, archived on a CD-ROM etc. To download the free version of "Acrobat Reader," go to http://www.adobe.com and download the free current version for your computer and operating system.

You may keep only one copy plus a back-up. We suggest you back it up to a CD-ROM or some other storage in case your hard drive crashes. You may print one copy. If you lose or damage the printed copy, you may print a replacement copy any time, and as often as you need to. You may not under any circumstances sell copies of the files or sheet music.

I do not know of any sites offering tabs for the songs currently. There was one but the webmaster got overwhelmed with other projects and school... See the "Sheet Music" section of "Music & Memorabilia" to view items which have been released. No sheet music for the songs on Photograph Smile have been released that I know of... There was a sheet music book for Help Yourself despite the fact it isn't listed.
