Why should I not use Matlab's linprog LP solver?

MPT - The Multi-Parametric Toolbox for Matlab
We have found linprog very unreliable for the kind of problems the toolbox is solving. For instance, very often you will get an infeasible solution from linprog for a given linear program, while the other solvers are able to return a correct solution. Besides this fact, linprog is also very slow comparing to other available solvers.

I do have an LP/QP solver which is not among the supported solvers. Can I use it in the MPT toolbox?

MPT - The Multi-Parametric Toolbox for Matlab
Yes, you can, if the solver can solve LPs/QPs with both inequality and equality constraints. To add your LP/QP solver to the list of supported solvers, a simple modification of mpt_solveLP.m or mpt_solveQP.m is necessary. It is however a good idea to contact us for more details. Do I need to download cddlib in order to use the CDD LP solver?

MPT - The Multi-Parametric Toolbox for Matlab
No, cddlib is already linked with the mex interface, so there is no need to download it separately, unless you plan to re-compile the interface. See similar questions...

Can lp_solve be called from MATLAB?

lp_solve Frequently Asked Questions
Yes it can. MATLAB allows to call any solver if there is a driver program available. There is now also one for version 5.1. The driver program is called mxlpsolve. The driver program has a lot of new options such that the full potential of lp_solve can be used. Also see MATLAB. See similar questions...

LP, when is it done?

Larch Frequently Asked Questions
Although one cannot list both unknown and hmm in the same converts clause, one could add another converts clause to the trait ConvertsTrait, stating that unknown is converted, relative to the other operators, which in that case include hmm. See similar questions...

Do I need to use LSL if I use LP?

Larch Frequently Asked Questions
No, you do not need to use LSL if you use LP. LP has its own input format (although it is very similar to LSL's input format). So, many users of LP simply bypass LSL, and use LP exclusively. On the other hand, using LSL as an input format to LP has the following advantages. The LSL checker automatically generates proof management commands (scripting and logging) for LP, and helps organize theories and conjectures into files. See section 3.10 How do I use LP to check my LSL traits?. See similar questions...

Can I use C and Fortran programs with MATLAB?

MATLAB Frequently Asked Questions
MATLAB's MEX-file facility allows user to use C and Fortran subroutines as MATLAB m-files. It is also possible to use MATLAB as a computational engine for C/Fortran subroutines. See similar questions...

Why do we use MATLAB?

CS100M FAQ
We wish to expose you to another high level language. CS100 teaches programming, not just specific languages. So, skills you learn in Java should transfer to other languages. MATLAB offers a very powerful and elegant language for performing numerical analysis. We encourage you to explore similar packages, such as Maple, Mathematica, MathCad, and TKSolver. How can I use Matlab's import feature to read signal files?

Frequently Asked Questions about PhysioNet
You can't in general, because Matlab doesn't know how to figure out which of the many supported formats is used in any given signal file, because it can't understand the most commonly used formats in any case, and because (in many cases) signal files are orders of magnitude larger than any matrix that Matlab can handle. See How can I read signal files? for a variety of ways to read signal files from Matlab without using its import feature. See similar questions...

If I reserve a name for an LLC or LP, can I use the name to form a nonprofit corporation?

Nonprofit FAQs

Q2. How do you use the solver?

Numbers Game Solver FAQ - crossword tools .com - Online tool...
Using the solver should be straight-forward. If you have a specific game you wish to solve you just need to fill in the numbers and target and click on Find solutions. To generate a random game, click on one of the other buttons to select the ratio of large to smaller numbers. You can then try to solve it yourself and solve it when you want to see how it is done. Yes. See similar questions...

Can I use Multiflash for MATLAB with Simulink?

Multiflash Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Multiflash is the solution of choice for several commercial simulation packages; see for example: 'Infochem Links' on the Infochem web site. Multiflash for MATLAB has several advantages for Simulink users: Property data is traceable to Infochem or other industry-standard data sources, for Quality Assurance. Manual entry into simulation models of approximate physical properties through look-up tables or off-line curve-fitting may be eliminated - removing the risk of errors in model data entry. Where can I get an implementation of LP?

Larch Frequently Asked Questions
Currently, LP only runs on Unix machines. You can get an implementation of LP using the world-wide web, starting at the following URL. http://www.sds.lcs.mit.edu/spd/larch/LP/news/distribution.html You can also get an implementation by anonymous ftp from the following URL. ftp://ftp.sds.lcs.mit.edu/pub/Larch/LP/ See section 2. How do I interrupt LP?

Larch Frequently Asked Questions
If you are running LP under Unix, the Unix "quit" character (usually C-g, that's control-g) will interrupt LP's execution. See section 3.6 Can I change the erase character in LP?, for other characters that aid in editing interactive input to LP. See section 3.20 How can I develop a proof that I can replay later?, for a way to avoid tedium and much direct interaction with LP. See similar questions...

What size tank should I use for L.P.?

United States Stove Company
We recommend checking your local codes first. Expect to use at least a one- hundred-pound cylinder. Using a twenty-pound cylinder may cause problems during extreme cold conditions., i.e., freezing regulator, frost on tank, nuisance shut downs. See similar questions...
