Therapy tends to focus on finding the answers to questions from the past that have shaped who you are now. Coaching focuses on who you are today and who you want to be tomorrow. Coaching also helps you find the answers to whatever questions you have that are preventing you from playing full-out. Even in a specialized field of interest, for example tennis, Coaches, mentors, and tutors may have skills and expertise that are individually specialized. Yet, one individual may have the experience, skill, expertise, and knowledge to provide all of the services of individual mentors, tutors, and coaches.

Therapy generally focuses on emotional healing, the causes of behavior and how the person got to where they are. Coaching looks ahead and focuses on action and removing obstacles which prevent you from moving forward. Some people work with a coach while they are in therapy.

Supervision is the process of employee development, management, and evaluation which is used by a boss. People can grow as a result of supervision, at least to the point that the possibility of losing one's job is a motivation for growth. Learning in a supervisory situation is often a very high risk circumstance. If an employee shares his weaknesses, or her needs with a supervisor, they risk poor evaluations and dismissal. That is why supervision is often not very effective.

The relationship has both tangible and intangible benefits - some of these are outlined by clients on this site. During our early work, we set clear goals and objectives and these will be measurable, so you can evaluate the progress you are making. Some time in each session is also spent reviewing action and progress that has occurred between sessions.

Both Therapy and Life Coaching are approaches that involve a supportive relationship between a client and trained professional with the mutual purpose of helping the client achieve a more fulfilling life. While therapy may focus more on insight and understanding about the source of feelings and roadblocks to achieving your dreams, coaching will focus on action.

On average, people work with cicoach.com for 6 months but we've worked with clients for one month and others for several years. We have found that it takes a minimum of three months for you to learn how to maximize this process, and another three months to implement change. Finally, our work together isn't limited to our scheduled phone calls! Following each call, we will email you a summary of our meeting and are available between calls for emails or brief phone calls.

Life Coaches? believes that while traditional community based mentoring can be helpful to kids, that transformation require a holistic approach best embodied in a mentor with a deep commitment to following Jesus Christ as Lord and life leader.

The frequency and duration of one-to-one mentoring sessions will depend on your needs and are matters for your choice in each case. We will make clear recommendations. You are not required to commit yourself to any number of sessions or to any length of session, and may stop the process at any point without penalty.
