How Do I Get A Snake Down a Tub Drain?

Frequently Asked Questions
To get a snake in the drain you take off the *overflow plate*. That's the chrome thing on the tub wall with two screws. When you pull it out - two sections of the stopper mechanism will come with it. It's hinged so it will bend through the hole. Chances are that hair caught on the end of this mechanism is clogging the drain- you might not even need to snake it. BTW - A snake will not go through the drain hole at the bottom of the tub.

Okay then, what is "Snake Guitar"?

Eno FAQ 2: about the music
I decided to ask him about some of the instruments listed on the album's liner, with such exotic appellations as "snake guitar, "digital guitar," and "desert guitars." In the case of the first, for instance, I had often thought that given Eno's reputation it would not be out of the question for him to lay a guitar down in the middle of the recording studio and tape the sound of a reptile belly crawling slowly across the strings. He laughed. See similar questions...

Even where the drain extends outside the boundary of the property (for example under the road or under a neighbour's garden) the owner or occupier of the house served by the drain is still responsible, right up to the main public sewer. What do I do if my snake has mites?

As far as I know, snake mites are not transferable to humans, but I could be wrong. They can kill your snake however, if the problem is left untreated for a long time. One method you can use to get rid of mites is using a No Pest strip in a plastic container with holes punched in it for air exchange. In cages less than 50 gallons a 1/2 inch by 2 inch strip is used for about 12 hours. In bigger cages a 1 inch by 2 inch strip is used instead. See similar questions...

About force feeding, don't wait until your snake is very thin before trying it, but remember that they can go for a while without food, as long as they are not getting too thin.
