Your gun should be packed in a crash resistant plastic or metal case that locks. Do not go cheap on a traveling gun case. In the US, you will need to make sure you get to the airport early enough to have your gun inspected by TSA before it is placed on the airplane.

The first step is the Basic Personal Protection Course, which takes eight hours. This is normally done in two four-hour sessions on two days.
