When I watch some of the very experienced project managers in action, sometimes I get very disturbed. Most of them do not monitor critical paths, perform earned value analysis. If these two are not practiced in projects, I am sure that it is the project which is managing them. in an internationally accepted manner, then I think, PMBOK will act as a good reference material for them, and PMP credential will act as an endorsement of the skills which they already have.
