What is the difference between Manabloc and COMAP manifolds?

Manabloc FAQ's
Manablocs are water distribution manifolds for potable water systems (like your electrical breaker box, but for water instead of electricity). COMAP manifolds are for radiant floor heat systems. Manablocs cannot be used for radiant floor heat systems and Comap manifolds cannot be used as a distribution manifold for potable plumbing systems.

What's the difference between Manabloc manifolds and Comap manifolds?

HRH FAQ's
Manabloc and Comap manifolds are used for completely different applications. Manabloc manifolds are used as a distribution panel for potable water plumbing systems (like an electrical panel, but for water instead of electricity). Comap manifolds are used for hydronic radiant floor heat systems. See similar questions...

What is included with Manabloc manifolds?

Manabloc FAQ's
All Manablocs include 4-piece compression fittings for all fixture ports (1/2" fittings for 1/2" port Manablocs, 3/8" fittings for 3/8" port Manablocs), a T-Handle valve key, fixture port labels and an installation manual. Standard Manablocs do not include main water service supply fittings (they are available separately in several sizes for both crimp and threaded connections). For more information, please visit Manabloc System. See similar questions...

Where can I find out more about this COMAP curriculum?

FAQ's about the COMAP Course 1 Pilot at N.C.H.S.
COMAP's website is available for anyone to browse. It contains basic information about the Mathematics: Modeling Our World curriculum. The site allows for asking questions and for finding out what others think about the program. Copies of Curriculum and Evaluation Standards for School Mathematics are available from the NCTM (National Council of Teachers of Mathematics) for $25. The reference number for this 272-page document is #396. See similar questions...

Why should I use a Comap manifold for my radiant system?

HRH FAQ's
Comap manifolds are modular so you can easily expand the system to as many zones and loops as you need. Just add one return module and one supply module to the Comap Connection kit for each loop to assemble your own manifold. It can be configured as a single zone manifold with multiple loops or as a multiple zone manifold. Comap manifolds have balancing valves on all supply and return modules to regulate each loop for the best possible heat distribution. See similar questions...

Can a Manabloc be recess mounted between wall studs?

Manabloc FAQ's
Manablocs can be flush mounted right out of the box. For recessed mounting, a MBB2 mounting bracket is available (for studs spaced 16" on center). See similar questions...

What intake manifolds are available for the C5?

Jake Latham's 1997 Z51 Corvette - C5 Frequently Asked Questi...
There are not many intakes available to fit the LSx series of engine, since the factory ones are quite good. Aside from the standard LS1 intake on the earlier (97-2000) cars, there is the factory LS6 intake, which is good for a few horsepower, mostly on modified cars. To install the LS6 intake on a later car, in addition to the intake gaskets, you will need (1) #88894339 LS6 Intake, (1) #12568478 Coolant Pipe, and (2) #12563325 Plugs. It usually runs around $400. Why use both 3/8" and 1/2" Pex with Manabloc systems?

Manabloc FAQ's
Since 3/8" Pex is rated to 2.5 gallons per minute (gpm), it is the correct size tubing for all std 2.0 gpm, or less, low-flow fixtures (lav's, toilets, kitchen faucets, dishwashers, washers, icemakers, etc). 1/2" Pex can be used for these fixtures, but more water is wasted waiting for hot water to reach the fixtures (1/2" Pex holds almost twice as much as 3/8" Pex, so it takes almost twice the volume of water to travel between the water heater and the fixture). See similar questions...

Can 3/8" Pex connect to a 1/2" Manabloc port?

Manabloc FAQ's
Yes. The MXLSA24 3/8" to 1/2" port adapter is used to crimp 3/8" Pex to 1/2" Manabloc ports. The MXLSA24 has a swivel nut, so you can crimp the tubing onto the fitting either before or after the fitting is screwed onto the 1/2" Manabloc port. See similar questions...

What size main supply tubing is supplied with the Manabloc packages?

Manabloc FAQ's
None. The Manabloc Packages are configured "Manabloc Forward", which means they contain the std. tubing, fittings, supplies, etc starting at the Manabloc and ending at the fixtures. The Manabloc Packages include two MSA45 3/4" threaded main supply fittings and one ECAP1 end cap (for the unused main supply port when not plumbing the water heater through the Manabloc). How can I determine if the tubing quantity in the Manabloc Package is enough for my project?

Manabloc FAQ's
We use 25' as the average fixture run length for the tubing quantities in the Manabloc Packages, then round up to the next hundred (shortest coil available is 100'). 25' average per fixture run is usually enough tubing for most relatively efficient floorplans, but if your home is spread out, has multiple floors or has extra fixtures (dual Lavs in bathrooms, laundry sinks, separate tubs & showers, etc), you will need additional tubing. Do I need to get the chrome angle stop upgrade for my Manabloc Package?

Manabloc FAQ's
Probably not, but there are a few places in the US with outdated plumbing codes that still require a stop on each line within a few feet of the fixture. The chrome angle stop upgrade which includes copper stub-outs is a very popular choice for the '1/2" only' Manabloc Packages when the tubing must exit through the wall (1/2" Pex cannot bend in a tight enough radius to turn-out in a std 2x4 stud wall). How long does it take to plumb a 2-1/2 bath house with your Manabloc Package?

Manabloc FAQ's
Times vary dramatically, but generally, an experienced 2 person team can complete a 2-1/2 bath Manabloc rough-in, including tub/shower, washer and icemaker valves and hose bibs, in about 3 to 4 hours. The Manabloc finish plumb takes about the same time for an experienced team (about half a day), but most of the time is taken up by installing fixtures (toilets, sinks, dishwasher, disposer, etc.). Can I use my existing Exhaust manifolds? Are Headers required and what diameter should be used ?

Chevy Crate Engines
Yes you can bolt up your existing exhaust manifolds and in most if not all occasions that will be a direct fit. But as you may know an engine acts like a pump the more efficient the air and fuel is delivered in and exits out the better and more responsive it will become. The Edelbrock Aluminum Cylinder Heads on this engine have the same factory bolt pattern to work with pretty much any standard Header. A general idea in Header size would fall in place of 1" 5/8 to 1" 3/4. See similar questions...

Do I need to grind or sand my manifolds before I send them to Finishline?

Finish Line Coatings - Ceramic Thermal Barrier Coatings Exha...
Grinding or sanding is not necessary unless you are after a very smooth surface on your manifolds. Finishline ceramic finishes are meant to be thin and will not hide deep scratches or dents. We coat exhaust and intake manifolds everyday and our customers love the finish. See similar questions...

Can you supply multi-branch exhaust manifolds for my Jaguar V12?

Well we could - but the trouble is that there isn't enough space to install pipes of the right dimensions to work properly. If the dimensions are wrong then the system can actually have a negative effect. There is virtually no overlap of exhaust pulses into the cast three-into-one manifolds of the V12 (and 6 cylinder engines) so replacing them with separate pipes doesn't reap much improvement for the cost and trouble involved.
