The GRE must be taken by October 1 of the year you submit your application. Tests taken after this date will not be evaluated with the current year's application.

The Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) score is required for applicants to many graduate-level programs in the United States and at international universities. The GRE includes the General Test, composed of verbal, quantitative, and analytical sections, and Subject Tests on specific academic fields. Some universities require only the General Test while others will request applicants to take Subject Tests related to their planned area of study.

All supportive application materials (test scores and letters of recommendation) must be received by the School no later than the announced deadlines.

You should have your official scores sent as soon as possible. In the mean time, please self-report your scores to the graduate program assistant (grad@astro.washington.edu).

Some leniency is allowed for late arrival of GRE scores and letters of recommendation. However, the admissions committee starts reviewing applications immediately after the deadline, and you may hurt your chances of being accepted if all of your application materials are not available for the committee to evaluate.

We will accept GRE scores after January 15 if the rest of the application is complete. However, applications will not be considered until the scores are received. Applicants may email the unofficial results of a computer-based GRE test directly to the Graduate Studies Office (gradstudies@medschool.pitt.edu); however, no action may be taken on the application until the official scores are received.

Lesley University admits students to online programs on a rolling admissions basis, so there is no application deadline. If financial aid is a concern however, you should pay attention to the start date of your intended program. You should apply well enough in advance of your intended starting semester to have your aid award in time.

Yes, it is okay if the official GRE score document arrives after the application deadline. If you know your scores when you complete our application, you should note them on the application. Another alternative is to email your GRE scores to linggradadmissions@umich.edu so we can put them in your file until the official scores arrive.

If you are hoping to matriculate in a professional school the year after you graduate, you should take these exams in the spring of your Junior year. If you plan to do a gap year after you graduate, you should take the MCAT or GRE in the spring two years before you hope to matriculate. For example, if you plan to matriculate in Fall 2010, you will be applying in Fall 2009, which means you should take the MCAT or GRE no later than the Spring of 2009.
