Biotechnology is a vast discipline where integrated technology derived from modern biology is applied to the areas from consumer products, the environment to medicine. Biomedical Science is centered upon the specific application of biology in medicine to the areas of diagnostics and therapeutics.

Biomedical Science covers a wide range of subjects from molecules to microbes to medicine, from body systems to biotechnology, and from human genome to health issues. In the post-genomics age, these relevant branches of sciences are converging to deliver the promises held out by biotechnology. For the Diploma in Biotechnology, one would mainly learn knowledge and skill sets related to cell and molecular biotechnology as well as specialized areas of biotechnology for application in biomedical and other scientific research. The course would also equip you with skills for handling and care for animal research models in a responsible way. You could also learn laboratory safety and management.

A doctor's career usually involves further training beyond the degrees of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, often in an area of special interest. For graduates who wish to become specialists, training is available within the major teaching hospitals for those who gain registrar positions.

The scientific method has now made teaching these subjects respectable in universities. But in the process we have lost the lore's former integration of the spiritual relationship between God Expressed As Nature and ourselves. Many of us are scientifically trained and hold technological jobs and interests.

The cut off point varies from year to year depending on the calibre of students who apply for the course and the number of vacancies available. For AY06/07, the cut off point for Diploma in Biomedical Science is 20.

The biomedical science research technologist is a member of a multidisciplinary team of researchers involved in the discovery, development, and production of chemicals, diagnostic products, and biopharmaceuticals. The biomedical science research technologist uses skills in molecular and cellular biology, immunology, protein chemistry, and microbial fermentation to produce reagents and products used in industry, medicine, and basic and applied research.

Agricultural biotechnology is an advanced technology that allows plant breeders to make precise genetic changes to impart beneficial traits to the crop plants we rely on for food and fiber. For centuries farmers and plant breeders have labored to improve crop plants. Traditional breeding methods include selecting and sowing the seeds from the strongest, most desirable plants to produce the next generation of crops.

Biotechnology is the application of scientific information and methods to biological problems such as in agriculture and medicine. It includes moving traits or characteristics from one organism to another, to improve or create new industrial, medical and agricultural products.

The Veterinary Technology degree was originally designed as a two year program. However, very few people can actually finish all the course work in only two years. Most students require anywhere from four to twelve or more semesters to finish, depending on how many units they can take per semester. Outside obligations such as work, family, and finances, just to mention a few, play heavily in your decision of how many units to take.

Many of the classes required for the degree are offered at night, such as English, Math and other general education classes. However, only a small number of AG classes are offered at night, and may not be offered each semester as a night class. In addition, the advanced veterinary technology classes are only offered during the day, and not every semester. Many of our students are able to maintain a full time school load (12 units or more) and work at least 20 -30 hours.

Actuarial science is a subject in statistics that focuses primarily on insurance and pension plans, whereas the QFN Programme focuses on the areas of business finance, financial engineering and quantitative methods.

The biomedical science research technologist is primarily employed in private biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries and university or government based research laboratories. They may also seek employment in management and education.

Only fools and small-minded people would oppose research on something so wonderful-even if there were only a 10% chance that it was correct (and the true percentage is far higher -100%, in our opinion). Sad to say, there are plenty of fools arrayed against New Energy. For almost 14 years now-the time since the Fleischmann-Pons announcement- we have observed a very strange phenomenon. Those who one might expect would have the greatest interest in and enthusiasm for New Energy, show no interest in it at all - in fact provably (it has been brought to their attention) they deliberately ignore it.

Key components of Flagstaff Academy's program are hands-on lab-based science programs, integration of math, science and technology in a practical fashion, and integration of writing throughout the science curriculum. Clearly there is a need for a new curriculum that focuses on the integration of science, management, engineering, information technologies, and liberal studies. The Bachelor of Science in Integrated Science and Technology has been designed around these conditions.
