Many people search for out of body experiences without knowing what they really are or how to produce them. It is thus very difficult for them to recognize these phenomena. There is a strong opposition between initiatory experiences and psychological experiences. The latter do not belong to initiatory techniques. It is extremely important to know what domain you are working on and what are its limits.

The term astral is used in many different ways. In our philosophy, it general means a state of consciousness other than the physical worlds. It is a state of consciousness where the make-up of matter is of amins and not atoms.

Out of body experiences (OBEs) are those curious, and usually brief experiences in which a person's consciousness seems to depart from his or her body, enabling observation of the world from a point of view other than that of the physical body and by means other than those of the physical senses. Thus, an out-of-the-body experience can initially be defined as 'an experience in which a person seems to perceive the world from a location outside his physical body' [Bla82].

How quickly do you WANT to see results? There's a lot of factors at work here. First, and foremost, there's your motivation level. If you're "trying" to quit smoking because your spouse has put you up to it, you're not really all that motivated yourself, now are you?
