It is important to realize that all monitors display color differently. (It's the same principle as going to your local Best Buy/Circuit City/Fry's and viewing the same show on different tv screens - the color will not be exactly the same on any of the screens.) Thus, you should not expect the image to print as it looks on screen, but rather as it is defined by the color values. Accurate colormatching can be problematic when attempted from a computer screen. Each and every monitor is different, and the process of illuminating pixels on a computer monitor is fundamentally different from light reflecting off a printed colored surface. Although we've designed our on-line catalog to provide a reasonably good representation of the colors we offer in the collection, we strongly recommend that you check your local miniatures shop and ask if they carry our products.

PMS colors are designed for paper ink to be placed on white stock and cannot be guaranteed to be exact on a textile, especially if it is not screen printed on white. However it is the best way to communicate color, and in most cases we achieve a perfect match.

The color of the actual product may be slightly different because color accuracy has more to do with your monitor than with our site. We've made every effort to represent images of checks and all other products accurately. Due to the wide range of computer monitors and color displays, however, you should consider the colors you see on your screen to be representational. We can usually match previously manufactured colors quite well. However, we recommend that if possible, a small piece be cut or chipped from the existing wall and sent to us. If that is not possible a new sample of the color should be visually compared to the existing wall and adjustment made to the color if necessary. Aggregates are a product of "Mother Nature" however and can vary over time. Always order a full size current sample to verify color.

For screen printed badges exact color matches are available. We are able to approximate colors on our full color badges (exact color matches not available). Engraved name badges are stock colors only.

We match the colors you see on the screen with the Pantone colors we have specified in a Pantone Chart Selector. We then send you the color codes for each color - e.g. Pantone 493U. Write down these codes and visit any Printshop. Ask them to show you a Pantone Chart Selector and you will be able to select your preferred colors or see our suggestions.

First you must have an understanding of how color is produced. A monitor displays color by transmitting Red, Green and Blue (RGB) light into your eyes. A printer uses existing light to reflect Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and black (CYMK) light into your eyes. It is virtually impossible to have these two different color types (transmissive and reflective) to match perfectly.

We have tried to color match the images that you see on our website as closely as possible. However, due to the variety of display setting of the monitors there might be variations. If you are unsure about a color, send us an e-mail and we will try to help you find the exact color you want.

The monitor displays images as pixel matrices (e.g. a 17" monitor can display 1024 X 768 pixels) and each pixel is made up of three tiny points of light, invisible to the naked eye. The color of the first point can range from black (when it is switched off) to a bright red (when lit up at maximum), passing through all the possible shades in between. The second point ranges from black to bright green and the third from black to bright blue.

Some printer cartridges, in addition to black, magenta, cyan, and yellow, require two additional "photo" colors: lighter hues of both magenta and cyan. These inks are not intended for use in standard four-color printers, even when printing photos. Many four color printers can accept an optional photo cartridge that uses the photo colors.

Yes. Although Pantone colors were created for paper prints we are very good at matching on most fabric colors.

Provide us with the PMS number(s) of your logo and we will match your colors as closely as possible. Your artist or commercial printer can be helpful in supplying you with this information and artwork. If you aren't able to give us the PMS numbers, we can match them by comparing a printed color sample of your logo with a PMS color index.

We cannot guarantee that, for example, the cherry wood on a Crosley turntable is going to be exactly the same as a cherry TV stand from Wood Technologies. They should be fairly close, but it most likely won't be exactly the same shade.
