Most books, book on cassettes or CD, and educational videos and DVDs circulate for three weeks. However, magazines, circulate for one week. Feature films and DVDs circulate for 3 days. Loan periods for materials borrowed for you from other library systems vary depending on their loan policy. More information can be obtained in the Loan Period and Limits section.

The Library gratefully accepts the donation of books and audiovisual materials. These items must be clean and in good condition. Each item will be evaluated for its suitability for the collection. Please, do not donate textbooks or Reader's Digest Condensed Books to the Library as they do not sell at our used book sales. Yes, we have books, videos, audio tapes, and pamphlets that are available for you to checkout. Topics range from careers, employment interviews, peer pressure, drug and alcohol, active learning techniques, how to study, managing stress, college experiences, health, math, English, spelling, grammar and many others.

Even if you've never been published, you have a chance to catch the attention of a major magazine if you can provide something more experienced writers can't: your personal experience; access to inside information about a subject of interest to the magazine's readers; professional expertise that you can communicate at the readers' level; a local story that the national press hasn't covered; or a unique voice or quirky perspective on ordinary events.

Return your materials as soon as possible. There is a book drop available outside Meadows Library and Ayers Campus Library as well as a drop slot in the door of the Anniston Center Library if you arrive after hours. Materials should be returned to the library you borrowed them from. Your materials will be checked in the next day. You will be charged a fine for each day each item is late. Books are $.10 a day, and video tapes are $.50 a day.

Checkout time is before 10:00am. However, you may arrange to have a late check-out with us if available, we must receive notice 24 hours prior to your check-in, the fee is $30.00.

The Evansdale Public Library does have a limit of ten books and three videos that can be checked out at one time.

The offender has access to books and magazines in the unit as well as access to a library. Only in the event an offender is enrolled in high school or college will books be allowed to be sent in. However, this must be pre-approved by the Manager of Inmate Programs. Enrollment documentation must be submitted.

We can decontaminate books and magazines, but the process is very labor intensive and must be examined on a case by case basis.

No, but coin operated copiers are available. Magazine and journal articles may also be accessed and printed from several research databases such as Ebsco and eLibrary. Where can I get the password for off-campus access to Ebsco and other research databases? The password is for use by DMC students, faculty and staff only. Use of the databases is subject to the DMC Computer and Network Resources Statement of Acceptable Use.
