There are several programs you can use to stream movies in the Archive. Because we allow users to upload video files in any format, the same player will not always work for every single file, so it's a good idea to have a couple of programs available that you can try. Also, some files simply can't be streamed. Usually, this happens when the program that created the video file uses a codec that our software doesn't understand.

No. We prefer to receive payment before shipping. All to often, people forget to send the payment once they have the movies.

No. Most of the movies I review here have been rented from Netflix, or are borrowed from friends. I won't buy a DVD unless I feel I will watch it more than three times. I figure, if I can watch it three times, it's probably good enough to watch over and over again.

Movies are just $1 per night after the initial rental period. You have 21 days before our system charges you the $25 purchase price of the DVD, at which point the movie is yours to keep.

You are allowed to check out as many movies as you like in either DVD or VHS format. We have no limits.

Yes. Two 48HFP movies were shot at least partially on film stock. Both of those teams had connections with labs that enabled them to develop the film and transfer it in the 48 hour time period. VLC Media Player is the most versatile player we've found for playing the wide variety of movies found in the Archive. And, it's free! We also recommend MPlayer. We are endevouring to make it easy to understand what you can do with these movies, but this is a work-in-progress. Many of the movies and collections are licensed with Creative Commons Licenses. There are several steps to the process. First, I create the rendition. For pieces that I can perform adequately myself, I'll use a MIDI recording of my performance as a starting point. For pieces that are well-suited to the conductor program, I'll perform them using that tool and save the result. Some pieces have enough instruments that it works better to perform the part for each instrument separately, and layer them (sound on sound). Sometimes I use a combination of techniques.

You can import DVD-Video that you have authored with DVD authoring tools like Apple's iDVD, Microsoft's Windows DVD Maker, Pinnacle Studio 11, Nero Vision, Ulead DVD MovieFactory, Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 Suite, DVDit Pro, or DVD-Video that you have received from VHS-conversion services like YesDVD, or DVD-Video that you have created using a set-top DVD Recorder. Any Movie Player or Music Player can import content in DVD-Video format from DVD, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, and DVD+RW discs.

In chronological order: First is Happy Birthday, Wanda June completed in 1971. I've not seen this but have heard widely that it is horrible.
