Collars made to fit shafts of ½" and under are designed to fit their shaft size within +/- 0.010". All collars for over ½" shafts are designed to fit their bore size within at least +/_ 0.020 inches.

All products are manufactured to tolerances of no more than +/- 0.5MM (1/50") for specified dimension.

If the Oakland Pet Adoption Center finds a pet with a collar and identification, we make every effort (telephone, mail) to contact the owner and tell them that their pet is at our shelter. The less time your pet spends at the shelter, the less it will cost you to redeem it and the quicker you will have your pet back.

For small dogs (1/2" patterns) we only offer Adjustable collars. We make two types of collars in 3/4" and 1" patterns: adjustable collars (aka 'flat' collars), and Combo collars (aka 'martingales' , 'limited slip chokers' or 'half-check collars'). They do different things. The Adjustable collar is the best all-around collar. The dog can wear it all the time, although many dog pros recommend removing any collar when the dog is crated.

All pets must be dropped off on a leash with a Mud Puppies approved collar and a tag with pet’s name and phone number or address. Please read details in our Application Package.

If you have a slim face or a long neck, we recommend a cut-away or semi-cut-away collar (Venetian, Italian or French). If you have a broad face or a short neck, we recommend a more classic collar (European, Parisian, or French). But, most importantly, we recommend that you choose the style you like.

e-collar is a remote collar training device for communicating with your dog. It produces a weak electrical current between two contact points located on the collar. In the old days this type of collar was used as "shock collar" to scare a dog into submission. In the training method I teach, the e-collar is used in a totally different way and your dog is never "shocked" or abused.

YES, we have seen some excellent examples of welded collars. Because our mild steel and stainless steel materials contain sulfur and other additives, the lowest possible current and adequate ventilation should be employed. Be sure to remove screws before welding. However, in no cases should collars with zinc plating be welded. The welding process on a zinc plated product will produce noxious fumes. Welding can be done safely on a black oxide finished product.

Fashion left aside, collars should depend on everyones fisonomy. For instance, people with wide necks and/or rounded face should avoid spread collars, and opt for a closer collar wich would make its semblance finer.

Martingale Collars are also regularly referred to as Humane Choke collars. This type collar is designed to tighten but not strangle your hound. It is not a indefinite choke but is only intended to keep you dog safely in his/her collar. If correctly adjusted it will only tighten enough to prevent you hound from backing out of his/her collar. Sighthounds typically wear this style of collar because their heads are smaller that their necks but All Breeds of dogs can wear these collars.

A Tubular Orthosis for Torticollis (TOT) Collar is used to treat infants with CMT. Basically, it is a very simple device that is made from soft plastic tubing. This tubing fits around the neck, There are hard plastic pieces that fit in-between the soft tubing on the tort side. They are cut to fit the infants neck so that they hit the base of the skull in certain places. When they tilt their head and hit these harder pieces, it is uncomfortable and they straighten their head.

The nature of diamond grinding on ultra hard materials translates into tight tolerances being routinely achieved. The actual limits to the attained precision depend on variables like the machine tool used, the general shape and size of the part, and the sequence of operations needed to complete the task. Although our shop standard for machining is +/-0.004”, we generally halve this on the first pass of operations. Secondary operations can further narrow this to +/-0.0001”.

The general manufacturing tolerances of slides and guidance rails are in accordance with the JS13 standard.

This is a question that is asked all the time, but is very difficult to answer without a particular part and machine type in mind. Often someone will ask, "can you hold .002" tolerance?" Naturally, the tolerance can be held, but it may change the way a part is made. It may require more attention from the operator, may require a more time consuming inspection method, and likely will result in higher costs.

On rolled wire our tolerances are generally +/- 0.03mm on thickness and +/-0.05mm on width. If your tolerance requirements for a specific application are tighter than this then please give us details and our Technical Teams will investigate ways we can assist. Statistical Process Control (SPC) and the increasing use of laser measurement systems ensure that consistently tight tolerances are achieved and maintained.
