The training your puppy receives in its first 8 weeks can last a lifetime. Thus socialization is not taken lightly at Sunshine Acres. Following is a general schedule each litter follows while here: weeks -- The puppies are maternally socialized. This simply means they are cared for and taught by their mother. Human contact is limited to healthcare. weeks -- The puppies are imprinted to human contact with petting and light play as well as continued training from their mother.

We have a kennel home where most of the dogs are in pairs. Each living quarter has a large run or yard. All doghouses are heated and/or have an ample amount of bedding. In extreme temperatures they are able to come inside the doggie doors to a homey atmosphere.  All our dogs are part of our family and have daily contact with adults and children in our kennel-home and our log home. The Newfs would prefer to be in one of our ponds, while the Bichons would rather be on  someone's lap.

ANSWER: Of course, Mike and Lucy play with the puppies and interact with the puppies from birth, on a several times a day basis. Once the pups are 4 weeks old, the children play with the puppies too. When the pups reach 6 weeks of age, they are moved into the entryway of the shop, where our customers play with the puppies too (who can resist?). We get our puppies from breeders all across the United States. Some of the breeders we have been working with for up to 20 years. For our clients protection we require a one year warranty against problems associated with bad breeding and we pass the warranty along to our clients. Without this warranty we do not buy from the breeder. Much attention is brought to Pet Stores that sell puppies in that they are easily associated with "Puppy Mills". All our breeders must hold a U.S.D.A.

Usually not. Most dogs are at least 3 years old. But we do sometimes get dogs as young as 1 year. The only time we received puppies was after the raid on the Bergman Puppy Mill.

Ideally, especially for J babies, they are introduced to a variety of people during development, which will help prevent that "one person bond" so many J's are known for. Some breeders live in the boonies - so perhaps visitors are not the norm. Still, a breeder should include baby J's in household activities - such as folding laundry in the bedroom, hanging out during television, etc.

The first few weeks the kittens live in a birthing enclosure with their mother. We handle them daily to get them used to human contact right away so we become their second parents. Once they are walking, they are free to wonder within the nursery. By 5-6 weeks of age, they have gained more independence and an intense curiosity about the world around them. At that time, their space expands to a full level with climbing apparatus, sisal rope-wrapped scratching posts, and toys.

My Goldendoodles have mostly wavy to slightly curly coats. My reds, golds, and creams shed very lightly to not at all. I have seen this in person by attending Doodle Romps where my puppies have grown into adults. You read and hear of so many classifications of coats, such as fleecy, flat, wavy, woolly. Generally, these terms fit the Labradoodle and not necessarily the Goldendoodle. For the most part, my Goldendoodles will be soft to the touch and wavy in appearance.

Our Airedales are priced comparably with other high quality pure bred dogs. Some litters may be priced differently than others based on the particular breeding.
