Depends on the region. People is friendly, more so in rural environments (not different from anywhere in the world, actually) but that's another subject. As far as infraestructures for hikers (trails, lodging...) go, there are areas with strong hiking tradition and others without. Recreational hiking is more popular in the mountainous areas and near the big cities. In general, hiking means day-hiking; multi-day backpacking is not as popular.

Another thing that should be pointed out - distances are extremely deceiving in the complex. What looks like a short hike is a very long climb. Just before the film ends (at the piles of rocks) look up towards the top of that gradual slope. That is Taseq West - a prime hunting spot, and it is about 1.8km away from where the camera was, and about 300 - 400m higher. 1 1/2 hours to get up there from where we are - more if you're carrying more than you should be.
